She’d originally wanted to go buy a pregnancy test, but then felt it had only been a few days, there was no way it would show anything yet.
She wanted to tell Nangong Yue about it, but she was afraid she was getting ahead of herself, and if she wasn’t actually pregnant, she’d have made him happy for nothing.
So she hesitated, conflicted and tangled up, to the point her mood was all kinds of heartache-y.
By the time Nangong Yue came to the Golden Palace to pick her up after work, she was still stuck in that tangle: should she tell him or not?
After thinking it over, she decided to wait a few more days. If her period still hadn’t come after another week, she’d go to the hospital, and then only tell Nangong Yue once it was confirmed she was pregnant.
So they wouldn’t be happy for nothing.
Once she’d decided, Gu Mian temporarily pressed the matter down to the bottom of her heart, and went home with Nangong Yue acting like nothing was going on.
After the two of them got home and had dinner, as usual they went out to the courtyard for a walk, chatted about the day’s gossip and random stuff, then went back to their room to wash up and get ready for bed.
After washing up, Gu Mian sat down at the vanity as usual to do her skincare, while Nangong Yue opened his phone and went to mess around in the chat group with Third Young Master Di and the others.
After chatting for a bit, Nangong Yue couldn’t help complaining to Gu Mian, "Alvin is seriously too much!"
"What happened?" Gu Mian turned her head.
Looking utterly tragic and helpless, Nangong Yue said, "That guy is flexing way too hard. He actually said he doesn’t want to hang out with a bunch of people who don’t have daughters!"
"Pfft..." Gu Mian couldn’t help but laugh, then turned back and teased, "What, you jealous and salty now?"
"How could I not be." Nangong Yue pouted, looking a bit upset.
