Di Xiaxia looked as if she were tired of life, and remained silent for a while before saying, "You guys are oversimplifying things."
"You’re just overthinking it!" Di Jinxuan cupped her chin, looking at Di Xiaxia, and suddenly used a trump card. "Fourth sister, have you ever thought about it - if you get together with our eldest brother, our third brother and sister-in-law will have to call you sister-in-law! How does that feel? Exciting, isn’t it?"
Gu Qibao’s eyes widened instantly. Damn, Di Jinxuan, that’s awesome! Truly a master of adding fuel to the fire.
Did anyone else feel like they just took a million critical hits to their heart, or was it just me?
Di Xiaxia raised her eyelids, and nonchalantly answered, "Not really."
Honestly, she didn’t feel excited at all. Not one bit.
Conceding defeat, Di Jinxuan lowered her head. "Fourth sister, what exactly do you want to do? Look at my eldest brother, he’s almost 28. It’s so frustrating! At least tell us whether you want to be together with him or not!"
"I’m really not playing any games here." Di Xiaxia responded seriously, "Xuanxuan, you’re not me. You won’t understand. Now then, I want to rest."
Di Jinxuan: "..."
"Alright then." Gu Qibao piped up promptly, "Xuanxuan, let’s go. Give her some time to think things through."
Di Xiaxia walked them to the door, and finally, her face flushed, said, "Actually, I really appreciate your concern for me, but I... "
"I understand." Gu Qibao rushed to interrupt her, "Don’t worry, I get it."
A relationship isn’t such an easy thing to establish, just saying ’let’s be together’ and ’I love you’ isn’t enough.
The two left, and by then Di Mingjue and the others were nearly ready to return home.
On the way home, Gu Qibao was particularly conflicted. She was wondering whether or not to discuss the matter with Di Mingjue.
She was always bad at keeping secrets. If she didn’t discuss this juicy piece of gossip with her husband, it would feel like there were cat claws scratching at her heart.
But if she told Di Mingjue, would he go ask his older brother, or let slip something he shouldn’t? That wouldn’t be good, would it? She promised Di Xiaxia she wouldn’t say a word.
So Gu Qibao was in turmoil the whole way home.
Di Mingjue watched her uncomfortable movements and couldn’t help but frown, "What’s the matter with you? Why are you fidgeting?"
