She slept extraordinarily well that night, while Di Mingzhe hardly got any sleep, constantly attentive to her every movement, for fear she might unintentionally hurt her injured hand in her sleep.
Di Xiaxia slept so deeply that she awoke fairly late the next morning.
When she finally awoke naturally, she stared blankly at the ceiling, her mind still fuddled in the dizzying fog of waking up, experiencing a surreal deja vu, as if doubting her existence.
"Are you awake?" The soft voice of Di Mingzhe resonated beside her ear, containing a gentle touch, incredibly soothing.
Di Xiaxia was taken aback and sharply turned her head around. His face was right before her, so close that their lips were almost touching.
"Ah!" Di Xiaxia let out an uncontrollable sharp scream.
Di Mingzhe’s eyebrows furrowed reflexively, but he quickly recovered, his lips curled up slightly, his demeanor calm. He reached out to gently stroke her nose, and said softly, "You must have been dreaming."
Di Xiaxia’s screaming ceased abruptly, and then, blinking in confusion, her thoughts began to collect.
Err.
She really was disoriented!
"Let’s get up now that you’re awake." Di Mingzhe lightly pat her hand, sat up, buttoning his shirt, and said, "I’ll have the maid come to dress you."
Di Xiaxia rolled her eyes, seemingly still craving a couple more minutes of sleep, and waved her hand dismissively, "Go ahead, just remember to close the door."
But as soon as she finished waving, she felt as though she had suddenly grown bold!
So, she cautiously opened her eyes a bit and found that Di Mingzhe had no reaction to her dismissal. After buttoning his shirt, he pressed a kiss to her forehead and then left!
After Di Mingzhe left, Di Xiaxia, who had intended to doze off again, was so startled that she sat up on the bed and couldn’t help but glance towards the door.
