After he finished speaking, he turned and left without hesitation.
Dan Lingling blinked in confusion, not quite understanding what had just happened.
The security guard stepped forward and respectfully said, "Miss Lingling, if you please."
Dan Lingling knew better than to argue. She was well aware that Di Mingzhe was not a man who liked to beat around the bush. His words were not open to challenge or rebuttal.
Even if she insisted, she wouldn’t gain anything from it.
"Hmm," Dan Lingling nodded, gracefully following the guard out.
When Di Mingzhe returned to the main hall, Di Xiaxia had just come down from upstairs. She looked listless, moving languidly.
Seemingly lost in thought, she was about to pass him without any reaction.
Just as they were about to meet, Di Xiaxia finally looked up at him, only to quickly lower her gaze and continue to walk past.
Di Mingzhe didn’t speak or move on, but quietly stood his ground.
She walked past him, brushing past his shoulder without stopping, continuing on her path.
Yet, in that brief instant when their shoulders almost touched, Di Mingzhe suddenly reached out and grabbed her hand.
Di Xiaxia turned her head, and so did Di Mingzhe, their eyes meeting in a collision of glances.
Di Mingzhe’s eyebrows furrowed slowly.
"Xiaxia," Di Mingzhe started, wanting to say something but only managed her name before he faltered.
Di Xiaxia didn’t respond. She pulled her hand away, didn’t say a word, and continued to walk away.
Di Mingzhe’s brows furrowed even more. He wanted to catch up, but didn’t. He watched as her figure disappeared from his sight.
Di Xiaxia moved to a different courtyard, staying quietly inside, not coming out, her meals were even sent to her.
