"No, I just..." Di Xiaxia stammered, her voice choked with emotion. "I’m just happy," she mumbled, fighting back tears.
Unable to contain herself any longer, she threw herself into Di Mingzhe’s arms.
Feeling exuberant, coquettish, and deeply moved, she sobbed in his embrace. She felt too many emotions to even describe.
His embrace was so warm, and his scent was so comforting.
Still crying, Di Xiaxia couldn’t help but hit his chest, complaining incessantly, "How could you be so mean, how could you be so mean! I thought you deleted it, I thought there was no surprise left. I look so ugly when I cry, and yet you still made me cry..."
How could he have moved her so deeply, causing her to burst into tears?
But her tears were those of joy, of happiness, of coquettishness.
In the past, whenever she watched romance dramas, she found the female lead silly when she sobbed in the male lead’s arms.
Now, she felt like she had turned into that silly female lead herself, but she didn’t find it silly anymore.
She realized this was what love was capable of - turning one into a fool instantaneously.
Despite the crude metaphor, it was the honest truth.
Di Mingzhe didn’t react, allowing her to hit him. He gave her a regretful look and pulled her close, "If I had treated you this way sooner, perhaps we wouldn’t have missed out on so many years. Xiaxia, I haven’t given you enough, not enough memories, not enough care. Hopefully, it’s not yet too late for me to make up for everything now."
He cupped her face, kissing her passionately, claiming every bit of her until she was breathless. Only then did he reluctantly pull away.
Looking at her slightly swollen eyes, Di Mingzhe felt an incredible tenderness towards her. He gently wiped away her tears.
