Chapter 320

Irvin felt conflicted as he looked at Grace.

Moments before Timothy had died, he had entrusted Irvin to take good care of her and his son. And from Timothy’s reluctance to leave them behind, Irvin could tell how much he had loved them

Yet, Grace was so ruthless and had even used her own child just to harm me.

After sending Dorothy out of the room, Irvin placed the examination report in front of her.

Given that they were both intelligent, Irvin got straight to the point

Withdraw the lawsuit,he demanded.

Placing her bowl down, Grace dabbed her mouth before responding with, Why should I?

It seemed she had chosen to be obstinate until her hand was forced

Seeing this, Irvin replied, You knew your baby had a heart defect, and you didn’t intend to keep him. So you decided to use the child to frame my wife! Emilia never pushed you! Also, you know very well that I’m her husbandnot yours!

Grace stared at him blankly.

Irvin frowned and was about to say something when she started crying. She looked so pitiful that he lost his resolve and didn’t know what to do. He didn’t understand how she could be so fierce in one moment and then suddenly weepy in the next.

Then, Grace finally spoke. I know that. I know you’re not my husband. I know you’re not Tim. My Tim would never treat me like this. He would never falsely accuse me. And no matter what happened, he would always be on my side.

Irvin was dumbfounded.

She continued crying for some time. When she eventually looked up at Irvin, her eyes were bloodshot. Grace couldn’t look more pitiful.

After taking a steadying breath, she said, I don’t care whether or not you believe me. I was so devastated when I lost Timothy that I had collapsed from shock. Because of this, I had pregnancy complications and had to take medication for it. So it’s my fault that my child developed a heart defect.

Still, I never gave up on him! He was the last of Timothy’s bloodline! I loved him so much! So howhow could I—

Grace started choking up again as she spoke.

When William had confronted her, she said she developed pregnancy complications from saving him and had to take medication for it. Grace also claimed the medication was why there was something wrong with her son.

And now that Irvin was confronting her, she also claimed her child had developed a heart defect because she had to take medication for her pregnancy complications. However, the reason for her pregnancy complications was the shock from Timothy’s abrupt death.

And why did Timothy suddenly pass away? Because he sacrificed himself to save Irvin. In other words, Grace was implying that her child had ended up like this because of Irvin.

Irvin caught on to what she was indirectly expressing, and his fists clenched unconsciously.

He had examined the reports from Grace’s previous checkups, which indicated the baby had been fine.

His investigation had also revealed she did indeed faint when she heard the news about Timothy’s death. And because she had developed pregnancy complications, she had been admitted to the hospital for monitoring for over a week.

Timothy had died to save Irvin. And his only son had passed before being born because of him too.

Because of this, it was impossible for Irvin to be free of guilt, especially when he was someone who valued relationships. As

such, he couldn’t be as cold and tough as he had been earlier with all this in mind.

This all started because of me, so if you want to hate someone, you can hate me. But you shouldn’t have targeted my wife like Ahis! Irvin exclaimed.

He felt guilty and upset. He also felt he owed Timothy. Even so, Irvin didn’t believe that Grace hadn’t intended to frame me.

Grace smiled sorrowfully at his reproach.

I know you won’t believe me no matter what I say. And if you still feel I didn’t want this child and had deliberately tried to frame Ms. Quill, then go aheaduse that report against me,she said.
