Chapter 355
Upon hearing Magnus agree to her plan, Grace lowered her gaze to hide her satisfaction.
Irvin had used his favored status with Magnus to threaten her. Well, she would see how well he fared when he had to go up against Magnus instead.
Irvin was just her chosen pawn, and there was no such thing as a pen turning on its master.
Magnus had always been a man of action. So, he immediately called Irvin to the room. Once Irvin arrived, Magnus explained Grace’s plan.
Upon hearing what they wanted him to do, Irvin wanted to laugh. He had always thought of Magnus as one of the better people in this family, but now, he realized he had thought too highly of day
“Agatha and Grace created this mess. Yet, they want Emilia to take the blame for it and expect me to be the one to condemn her? What do you take me for, Magnus? A mentally impaired idiot?” Irvin asked derisively.
Magnus frowned. “Watch what you’re saying, Tim. Can’t you see the public’s doubts and their effect on Hardwell Group’s stock prices? Don’t you know that the branch family members are trying to start a fuss too?”
“I do, but so what? This isn’t Emilia’s fault, so why should she bear the consequences? If you want to blame someone, shouldn’t you be looking at Agatha and Grace?” Irvin shot back while casting a cool glance at the two women.
Agatha felt her heart clench when she met his icy gaze. “Look at him, Magnus. Look at how this brute treats me, even though! was the one who birthed him! Oh, if only the real Tim were still here—”
Before she could finish, Magnus sharply cut her off. “Tim is right here in front of you! Stop saying you wish he were still here! Also, if you want your children to be grateful and obedient to you, you need to be a good mother to them first! If not, why would they respect you?”
Agatha had abandoned Irvin since birth. But now, he was back and was her only living son. But instead of trying to make things up to him, all she did was constantly wish he were dead. So, why would Irvin ever treat her like his mother when she kept wishing for that?
Agatha shook with rage and was on the verge of losing control. She hadn’t expected that not only would Magnus not defend her, but he would even scold her publicly.
Seeing this, Grace quickly grabbed her hand to get her to calm down.
After scolding Agatha, Magnus turned to Irvin and threatened, “If you still want to remain as the heir to the Hardwell family,
you will do as I say.”
Magnus had held a position of power for many years, so he was accustomed to simply ordering people around. Prioritizing the family’s interests above all else had also become second nature to him. He didn’t care who he had to sacrifice as long as it was the quickest way to resolve issues.
As such, Magnus didn’t care about Irvin’s willingness because to him, Irvin had no choice but to obey.
Irvin chuckled mirthlessly upon hearing Magnus‘ words. “I won’t do as you say. And if that means I won’t be the heir, then so be
it.”
He had remained at Hardwell Manor and lived under Timothy’s name for two reasons. The first was because he wanted to repay Timothy for saving his life by shouldering the necessary responsibilities.
The second, and most important reason, was to protect me. Because if he couldn’t protect me, then he deserved to die. Hence, harming me with his own hands was out of the question!
Magnus‘ expression instantly darkened. “Do you even understand what you’re saying, Tim?”
Irvin met his sharp, commanding gaze and fearlessly replied, “I do”

Şince becoming the head of the Hardwell family, no one had daredi hallenge Magnus directly. Because of this, his expression became frighteningly thunderous.
Even so, he couldn’t help admiring Irvin deep down. While Irvin had been abandoned and raised by another family, he had grown up well. In fact, Irvin had even surpassed Timothy, whom Magnus had carefully raised.
Whether it was in business or other aspects, Timothy lacked Irvin’s decisiveness.
That being said, no matter how much Magnus admired Irvin, he wouldn’t allow Irvin to challenge his authority as the head of the Hardwell family.
