Chapter 1

On the day my Alpha mate, Lucien, got engaged to Skylathe real daughter of my Alpha father- the grand hall of the Bloodmoon Pack shimmered with golden lights.

The air was thick with the sweetness of champagne and flowers.

And I, the fake daughter of the pack, sat in the shadows outside the hall, my hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly that my knuckles turned white.

At that moment, I really wanted to crash the car through those doors.

Even if it meant dying with them, it would’ve been better than watching my world collapse before

my eyes.

Paige, calm down

I whispered to myself and to my wolf, but my heart kept pounding, aching so violently it felt as if it might tear apart my chest.

Let’s go to hell together.

I raised my head, glaring through my tears.

Just as I was about to slam down the gas pedal, my phone rang.

It was the pack doctor.

C

S

I answered, my voice splintering into hysteria. What?!

Paige… you’re pregnant.

مه

The words struck me like lightning.

I froze, the engine’s roar fading into silence.

The entire car fell still.

Half an hour later, applause and laughter echoed from the hall.

Through the windshield, I saw Lucien under the dazzling lightstall, breathtaking in his black suit, his blue eyes gleaming like a Greek god’s.

And beside him stood Skyla, glowing with beauty and grace in a goldthreaded gownthe same one I once secretly picked for myself.

My brothers, Cassian and Jaxon, surrounded her, smiling with warmth and pride.

They had already forgotten me.

Forgotten the girl who bled, trained, and shift countless times for the Bloodmoon Pack

Tears blurred my vision. I cried uncontrollably, barely able to breathe.

Why?

Why her when I was the one who’d always been there for them?

Why her when I was his fated mate?

My trembling fingers clutched the steering wheel tighter.

Through the fog of tears, I saw Lucien suddenly glance my way, as if he could feel my pain through

our mate bond.

His gaze locked on my car.

For one heartstopping second, I couldn’t breathe.

He started walking toward meone step, two stepseach one making my pulse race faster.

I wanted him to find me.

I wanted to tell himthat I was carrying his child.

But fear crept in.

What if he turned away, like he always did?

What if he looked at me with that same cold indifference, as if I were nothing but a mistake?

Just as he was about to reach me, Skyla reached out and took his arm.

Lucien, dance with me?

He turned back to her, smiling softly.

That smile shattered what little hope I had left.

In that instant, I understood.

No one cared about the fake Alpha’s daughter.

No one cared about the life growing inside me.

I wiped away my tears and started the engine.

The car turned around, heading north into the dark night.

The wind cut against my face, sharp and cold, carrying the scent of blood.

And so, as everyone wished, the fake daughter of the Alpha of the Bloodmoon Pack vanished from

their world.

I drove north without looking back.

The boundary stones of the pack faded behind me, swallowed by the snow.

When the car later crossed the icy plains, a dull pain gripped my bellyperhaps my baby’s way of

protesting the unknown.

Months passed.

In the frozen North, I became a rogue.

That night, under the full moon, I was hunted by a pack of rogues.

They caught my scentthe scent of my old pack, and of the unborn Alpha heir inside me.

Their howls tore through the darkness.

I ran with everything I had, leaving a trail of blood on the snow, until I stumbled into a forest I

didn’t recognize.

The territory of the Obsidian Packknown for its ruthlessness and cruelty.

Before I could shift, their border warriors tackled me to the ground, claws digging into my throat.

I could barely breathe.

Let her go.

A deep, commanding voice cut through the night.

A man stepped out of the shadows, green eyes gleaming under the moonlight.

He was tall, powerful, his presence unmistakably Alpha.

Alpha Zevius, one of the warriors bowed his head.

I knew that name.

Zeviusthe Alpha of the Obsidian Pack, the youngest and strongest Alpha in the North.

He crouched beside me, his voice low and steady. You’re pregnant?

I nodded weakly.

His brows furrowed. Without hesitation, he scooped me into his arms.

Call the pack doctor. Now.

Pain and fear swallowed me whole. Darkness followed.

When I woke again, the air was thick with the scent of herbs.

I was lying in a strange bed.

Zevius stood by the window, staring out at the blizzard.

You’re lucky,he said quietly. A minute later, and you and that baby wouldn’t have made it.

Against all odds, I gave birth to a daughterHope.

She became the only light in my darkened world.

After that, I never went back.

No one ever knew that the fake daughter of the Bloodmoon Pack still lived.
