"Is Margaret sticking up for the little guy? Dude, that's badass! Total old-school warrior princess energy!"
"Margaret's straight fire. I'm a girl and even I'm crushing hard on her!"
People recognized her instantly.
"Yeah, the Tucker family's one of the four great families—total billionaires—but messing with a big shot who's got real power? Is Margaret gonna be okay? Dude's got authority in his pocket!"
"Margaret, maybe just back off!"
A few folks looked worried.
Ted was staring Margaret down too, his brows knotted tight, his eyes sharp with malice.
This girl is from the Tucker family?
So what if the Tuckers have clout? They are just businessmen—rich, sure, but so what?
They actually think they can go toe-to-toe with a minister who's holding the reins of power?
If Edward had been here in person, Ted might've shown some respect.
But this kid? She wasn't even a blip on his radar.
Ted turned on Margaret, trying to cow her with his presence. "Miss, move aside! Do you know what you're doing? Harboring a spy's treason—you're betraying the country!"
But the image of Edward's stone-faced expression sent a chill down Ted's spine. Better to steer clear of the Tuckers if he could.
He roared out the threat, fully expecting the young girl to shrink back in fear.
But instead, she stood there calm as a lake, like he wasn't there.
Ted blew a fuse. No one had ever brushed him off like this.
Especially not a little girl!
He snapped at his men, "Grab her too!"
A handful of men closed in on Margaret.
Before Margaret could lift a finger, a figure came barreling out of nowhere—a flying kick slamming into the closest black-clad man, sending him sprawling.
The guy who'd crashed in was yelling at the top of his lungs, "Hell no! You lowlife scrubs think you can lay a hand on my sister?!"
Ted froze. This six-plus-foot guy had taken out his men in two seconds flat? He was stunned.
The girls watching nearby lost it over Raymond's sharp, badass moves.
"Whoa, that's hot!"
"That's the school's top dog, right? Total hottie!"
Raymond was always cocky, fearless, a total hothead. And now that this guy had messed with his sister? He wasn't holding back.
Ted's face flushed red, then pale, then purple—furious at being called a dog.
Raymond has gone too far! Unforgivable!
He glowered at the school principal, who was trembling nearby, oozing authority as he snapped, "You—tell him who I am!"
The principal's scalp went numb. He was terrified.
He bowed his head, stammering, "Y-yes, Mr. Lorenzo."
Then he turned to Raymond. Even as principal, he didn't dare act tough with him.
He was stuck between a rock and a hard place—he couldn't afford to tick off either side.
He spoke to Raymond in a shaky, nervous voice. "Mr. Tucker, this is Minister Ted Lorenzo. He's part of Karemin's Cabinet—one of the most powerful men in the country."
Karemin's Cabinet was the seat of power—every major national decision got hashed out there.
Thirty ministers sat on that Cabinet.
Each one had the power to shape the country's future—they were the biggest big shots in Karemin.
