As soon as she said that, the guy who’d suggested calling the cops turned pale. He couldn’t handle revenge from the Black Dragon Gang.

Clara was thrilled to see their hesitation. Now she just waited for the good news-Margaret getting beaten to death.

While everyone fretted, Raymond, who’d been unconscious on the bed, slowly opened his eyes.

“Raymond! You’re finally awake!” someone exclaimed.

Rickie and the others felt like they’d found a lifeline. With Raymond up, they could save Margaret!

Clara didn’t care, though. Of all the Tucker brothers, Raymond hated Margaret the most. No way he’d save that hick!

“Where’s Margaret?” Raymond scowled when he realized he was in the infirmary.

Getting taken down by a girl and ending up in the hospital? If word got out, his tough-guy reputation would be ruined.

Rickie hurried over. “Raymond, Boss went to meet Ruby. I saw Ruby bring 30 Black Dragon Gang guys-all packing weapons!”

Raymond raised an eyebrow at the “Boss” title, but now wasn’t the time to nitpick. “Is she out of her mind? Daring to go when they’ve got that many men?” he cursed.

He roughly threw off the blanket, wincing in pain as he swung his legs over the bed. “Where is she?”

“The abandoned factory near school!”

“Got it.” Raymond slipped on his shoes and headed for the door.

Clara sensed something was wrong. Is Raymond really going to save that hick Margaret? He’s always hated her!

She grabbed his arm and said anxiously, “Raymond, the doctor said you broke some bones. You need to rest.” She just didn’t want him to save Margaret.

“Let go.” Raymond instinctively cringed-he hated people touching him.

But when he looked at Clara’s face, he remembered shed saved his life. He forced down his disgust and softened his tone. “Clara, let me go.”

Clara held on tighter. “Raymond, the doctor said your injuries are serious. You can’t run around. Your health matters most.”

She knew Raymond treated her differently, so she felt bold.

Her words were perfect-outsiders would think she only cared about his well-being, not that she was stopping him from saving Margaret.

“Let go.” Raymond lost his patience. This time, he shoved her away-hard.

Clara fell back onto the bed. She stared at his retreating igure, stunned and pale.

Chapter 52 A Desperate Cry for Help

Raymond just pushed me! He’s always cared about me the most

It’s all Margaret’s fault!

Why does that hick gotta steal what’s mine?

She already ruined my engagement with Jose, and now she’s tryna take Raymond too!

That bitch!

But… it’s been over an hour now. Margaret’s probably dead by this point.

The thought made Clara grin.

Outside the infirmary, the rain poured harder. The sky was a dull gray, making everyone feel irritable and on edge.

Raymond was seething with frustration and rage right now. Ruby has some nerve messing with a Tucker! I might not like Margaret, but no one else gets to lay a finger on her!

“Raymond, it’s been almost an hour. Do you think Boss is okay?” Rickie and the others trotted beside him, hearts racing.

“Call Ruby.” Raymond found his umbrella annoying, tossed it aside, and stepped into the downpour, getting soaked instantly.

“Raymond, it’s ringing!”

Raymond snatched the phone. His voice was cold and murderous. “Ruby, if you so much as lay a finger on Margaret, your whole family dies!”

Rain plastered his silver hair to his face, hiding his expression. But the killing intent in his voice sent chills down spines.

Silence on the other end.

Then Ruby let out a high-pitched, terrified scream. “Raymond! Help! Please help me! Margaret’s a monster! I don’t wanna die!”

Her screams cut through the phone, raw with despair. She sounded like she was facing the devil himself.

Raymond and the others froze, a cold chill creeping over them.

What on earth has scared her this bad?
