Chapter 83 The Showdown Begins

PhoneGuru texted, “GOAT, can you help? Karemin’s telecom security is insane! Arthur-the genius-wrote the system himself. That guy’s on another level!”

Margaret replied, “Got it.”

Then she turned off her phone screen. Her eyes glinted colder, like she’d found something fun to play with.

The world had hackers. And it had geniuses on the other side-security experts.

Arthur Tucker was Karemin’s top security whiz. No hacker had ever broken through the systems he built or guarded.

Over the years, hackers worldwide had tried to take Arthur down. All failed.

Only one person had never tried-the mysterious Hacker God.

Everyone wondered whether the Hacker God’s “sword” was sharper than Arthur’s “shield” in telecom.

Every telecom fan dreamed of this showdown.

But the Hacker God had vanished two years ago. The epic battle never happened.

After the disappearance, many security experts mocked the Hacker God, saying he’d run away scared. For two years, hackers had been stuck under the security team’s thumb.

Margaret turned to Rickie, her eyes cold. “Is there a good internet café nearby? With decent gear?”

“Boss, you play games too?” Rickie froze, assuming she wanted to game,

Margaret had no patience. “Cut the crap. Answer me.”

A chill ran down Rickie’s spine. “Yes, Boss! There’s a gaming café near school. All their computers are top-

tier.”

“Let’s go.” Margaret’s pretty face stayed calm, but excitement flickered in her eyes.

She’d wanted to go up against Arthur-world-famous security expert-for ages. But the past two years had been busy, with too many aliases to juggle. Now, she finally had time.

And Arthur was her biological brother? Even better.

The world’s most secure system? To her, no system was unbreakable.

Margaret pressed her lips tight, her eyes cold and confident.

At the gaming café, Margaret and Rickie got a private room with the best computers.

She sat down and checked the specs-good enough, barely.

Rickie, in the other seat, opened his computer and pulled up the game platform.

He turned to her, excited. “Boss, play games? I can carry you to higher ranks!”

He really thought she was here to game. The idea of playing with Margaret made him giddy.

Sure, he was the son of a gambling tycoon-a rich slacker on the surface-but he was a total gaming prodigy.

He’d been the top-ranked player on the premier server for several seasons running.

Esports teams had begged him to join, but he’d said no. Even tournament prize money was chump change compared to his monthly allowance.

The thought of dominating the game and carrying Margaret made him pumped. This was his chance to show off to her!

Margaret glanced at him. “Not now. I’m busy.”

She focused on her computer.

No one saw what she did, but the screen flicked to a blue page, covered in dense code.

Her long, elegant fingers danced across the keyboard-fast, like a blur,

Click-clack, click-clack, line after line of code appeared.

Rickie stared, stunned. Holy crap. That speed is insane!

At the same time, in Karemin’s Telecom Security Department, a huge screen flashed red. Alarms blared.

A bald programmer’s face turned pale, his eyes wide with shock.

“Call Dr. Tucker-now! A hacker’s breaking in! And for the first time… someone got through the first firewall!”

Since Arthur upgraded Karemin’s telecom security system, its defenses had been unbeatable. The system had 15 firewalls in total.

Every day, thousands of hackers from around the world attacked it. But none had ever gotten past the first firewall.

Over time, Karemin’s security experts had come to believe that this system was impenetrable.
