Married at First Sight (Serenity and Zachary) novel Chapter 5357

Jeanne knew there was gossip. She immediately stood up, slid over to sit right next to Sonny, and asked with intense curiosity, “Wait, Sonny, who wouldn’t be interested in you? Do you actually have a crush on someone? And she doesn't feel the same for you?”

Good grief, who was this incredible woman who could actually resist her classy, handsome, generous, and utterly competent older brother?

“No, I don’t have a crush on anyone.”

“Oh, you definitely do! You definitely thought of someone just now, which is why you said there’s at least one person who wouldn’t be interested. Who is she? Tell me, Sonny. I promise I’ll keep your secret. I can even help you win her over! I’ll become her friend, get close to her, and then act as your ultimate wingwoman!”

Jeanne nudged him, trying to coax the name out of him.

She was dying to know who this mystery girl was. She deeply admired whoever had that kind of willpower.

Sonny flicked Jeanne's forehead lightly, completely amused. “Do you really think I’m the type who needs help getting a girl? If I ever fall in love, I can pursue her on my own. I don’t need your help. I genuinely don’t have feelings for anyone right now. I just happen to know that some people want to play matchmaker between us, but she isn’t interested, and frankly, neither am I.”

Jeanne still refused to let it go. “Even if you don’t have feelings for her, just tell me which family she’s from! How could she possibly not be interested? Has she just not met you yet? Because if she's met you, gotten to know you, and still manages to resist your charm, I am going to beg her to be my mentor.”

Sonny laughed. “Since there's no spark between us, there’s no point in saying her name. If it gets out, it might hurt her reputation, and that wouldn’t be right.”

No matter how much Jeanne tried to sweet-talk him, Sonny’s lips remained sealed. He absolutely refused to let Everly's name slip.

Ultimately, Jeanne had no choice but to give up.

After chatting with him for a few more minutes, she stood up and said, “Alright, Sonny, I'll let you get back to work. I'm just going to wander around the office for a bit.”

“Go ahead.”

Guessing that she was planning to go fishing for information around the company, Sonny did not bother stopping her.

If something did not belong to him, he would not spare it a glance.

“Let me know when Aunt Seren gets here,” Jeanne instructed.

“I will,” Sonny replied.

Clutching her half-eaten bag of snacks, Jeanne walked out. Her very first target for interrogation was Sonny’s secretary, Joseph.

While munching on her snacks, she lowered her voice and asked, “So, has your boss been seeing any wealthy socialites lately?”

Joseph was speechless. “Ms. Jeanne, you’ve really put me on the spot with that question.”

He wracked his brain for a moment before answering, “I honestly haven’t noticed the boss getting particularly close to any ladies. Oh, wait. Actually, there is one.”
