MATED TO THE VAMPIRE KING SON novel Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Freda’s POV

When he said lessons, I expected something like classroom teaching. He certainly didn’t know how to prepare someone, i thought to myself as watched Elara set out several items on the table,

I tried not to think of him or everything we’d spoken about yesterday, I had a feeling he didn’t want to discuss all the women had bees before that’s why he’d ended the conversation so abruptly, But since he’d said next time, it meant he was open to move conversations to that, I would ask him again.

I forced my focus back to Elara,

She’d spoken with Damien and told him we couldn’t have classes in his chamber. Now we were in a room that resembled an empty hall.

Elara had told me to dress lightly when she woke me this morning, and thankfully there was something suitable among the clothes Damien had arranged for me.

I stood in front of Elara like a soldier preparing for war, my hands clasped behind my back. I didn’t know how to stand, and I wanted no problems this time. I needed Damien to hear of my seriousness so he could trust me more.

Chin up. When you become queen, you must always look up and be alert. At all times. Her voice echoed through the large room, making it impossible to miss her words.

Today’s lesson will be different from what we did last time. She walked around the table and stopped in front of me.

Shoulders up.

I raised my shoulders and stood straight.

You have beautiful eyes, shewolf.

I smiled, feeling heat rise to my cheeks. Had Damien spoken to her? Was that why she was being nicer to me?

I heard the king had the coronation moved back. We have more than enough time for you to learn everything. Vampires have a long line of descendants, and each family has a tree. For now, the only families you should concern yourself with are the nobles. Six Lords rule alongside the king in this kingdom, and all of them have their family trees. You won’t need to know everyone on the tree just the important ones, like the first Lords of each house.

I almost yawned. I was tired of standing. I looked around the room for something to sit on but found nothing. I sighed.

Elara noticed and snapped her fingers.

Woah!I uttered in astonishment. She’d snapped her fingers and a stool appeared.

Will I learn to do that as well?I asked curiously, even though I knew the answer.

Not unless you’re born of magic. If you were fullblooded, I could say there was a possibility but you’re not. So there’s your answer. Now sit.

I planted myself on the stool without further questions and listened to her talk.

Chapter 65

Freda, being Queen of the vampire kingdom, requires an authoritative vol. You’ll be ruling people who are five hundred years old, a thousand years old, one hundred, eighty. They must never belittle you. You have to be sharp.

The change is scary, Elara. I hope I’ll be able to deliver as Damien believe I can.

Your real will single you out. Damien Trusts me to train you well. If you ten and follow all my teachings, this will be easier for you.She paused. Have you read the book I gave you last time?

I skimmed through it. I read about the procession, the oath, and the anoting. I can picture the day and its process already.

Your eyes should be on me or Damien during the ceremony, no one else. That way, we can correct your flaws. But note that Damien doesn’t like flaws. Do your best.

Certainly, Lady Elara.

She brought out a velvetcovered pedestal. This is the ceremonial cloak of our lineage. She explained. Take note of the embroidery, symbolizing our bloodlines.

I reached out to touch the cloak, but she slapped my hand back. A queen does not touch the cloak without invitation.

I’m sorry.I chuckled nervously.

You must first receive the cloak from your appointed Chamberlain. Accept it with gratitude.

A tall man stepped forward, offering the cloak to me. I accepted it with a small bow, feeling its weight and symbolism. Elara nodded her approval.

Now let’s proceed with the blood oath. She led me to a nearby altar. Repeat after me: I, your name, Queen of Valthrum, do solemnly swear

I, Freda Shane, Queen of Valthrum, do so

No!Lady Elara snapped. Your tone lacks conviction. You must speak with authority, Freda!

I, Freda Shane, Queen of ValthrumI said again, this time with confidence and power.

Better. She continued. By the blood of our ancestors, I pledge

By the blood of our ancestors, I pledge

Well done. A queen’s words hold power. Use them wisely.

Oh, I’m getting the hang of this!I squealed.

Composure, Freda. Learn to contain your emotions. Her eyes sent a warning. Now let’s continue: I bind myself to this oath by the power of my blood. Oh, waityour blood will be shed on that day, so show no pain or discomfort.
