Damien’s pov.

As I opened my eyes. I stared at the ceiling for a whole while, the

feeling of excitement washed over me.

I was going to be king today and Freda was going to be my queen,

speaking of queen I ought to wake mine with a smothering kiss. I

turned to her side of the bed and didn’t see her. Immediately I shot

right out of bed, I looked around, and I checked the bathrooms and

the mini study room, she wasn’t in there and the side of her bed was

cold which meant she had been up a while.

My heart began beating fast as I tried to calm myself, she probably

was just so excited about today and couldn’t sleep, or she had gone

out with Christie to get ready, that was a lie I thought to myself as I

called the attention of a passing guard, outside my room.

“Fetch me the maid Christie,” I said and he bowed. I closed the door

to my room and paced around, if there was anything I knew how reluctant Freda was to be crowned my queen, what if she ran away?

The thought suddenly crossed my mind and I froze, that was a possibility but I don’t think Freda has the resources to get on with such a plan besides she would have done that since. Shaking my head

I disagreed with my thoughts, she would not leave me.

“Your Highness you sent for me” Christie’s voice broke through my

thoughts from outside the door.

“Come” I barked out and she opened the door, she looked frightened

half to death.

“Do you know where Freda is or if she has started preparing for the

ceremony?” I asked and she shook her head.

“I need words, servant girl, speak!” I said now raising my voice. I was

feeling a lot of emotions that I was losing the ability to control my

anger.

“N–no your Highness, I have not seen the queen, nobody has seen her

since we resumed duties this morning,” she said and my heart sank,

nobody had seen Freda? That wasn’t possible, we slept together last

night, I had her in my arms where could she have gone?

“Are you sure you did not see her roaming around the garden?” I

asked, trying to be clear. Christie shook her head and immediately I

felt a needle like a prickle in my chest, I rubbed my temples,

something was wrong, something was very wrong.

“Her family is still here?” I forced myself to ask and she nodded.

“Yes your Highness, even her best friend Kara is around, I met her on

the way here,” Christie said and for some reason, I felt a bit relieved,

if her family and best friend were here that meant she was around the

castle walls.

“Be on the lookout for her, and let me know as soon as you get a

glimpse of her” I said and she nodded before turning around to walk

out of the room, I moved over to my bed and sat down, she was

around, she was within the castle grounds, I said to myself trying to

believe it, but the gnawing feeling at the pit of my stomach wouldn’t

let me believe that.

Something was off. And Freda felt far from me. I busted out of the

chamber and burst into Kara who was already coming into the room,

her eyes were red.

“Where is Freda?” We both chorused. “You don’t know where she is?” I

blurted.

“No. I…I should be asking you, Damien you slept with her.”

“I woke up and didn’t find her either. Call the family.”

“I don’t think so,” Kara said, but panic was evident in her face. “What

if the news spread that she is not home.”

“What do you mean she is not home? She wouldn’t have passed the walls of this cable!” I growled and Kara was taken aback. “Tell

everyone to find her!” Kara ran off immediately.

My demon almost exploded out of me, the beast in me fueling with

rage. Freda loved me, there was no way she escaped before her coronation. Was this her plan all along? Who gave her the boldness to

think such?

I refused to think after everything Freda and I had gone through she

would leave me. Maybe someone hurt her? Maybe they didn’t want

her to be queen. I needed to question everyone that was in the castle

premises for the whereabouts of my mate.

Who would dare to do that to me? The castle decorators were all

around and preparations for the coronation and feast had already

begun.

I walked into the living room, Kara had already done what she was

told, the werewolf pack was here, even the nobles. Elara walked up to me. “What is it that I am hearing?”

“Listen everyone!” I roared. “Five minutes to find Freda in this castle,
