Matthew silently led Ariya through the door and knocked.

"Ms. Kelsey, I'm back."

The moment Matthew's voice echoed inside, footsteps quickly rushed toward the entrance.

Kelsey stepped out of her room wearing nothing but a white nightgown.

The waves on her chest bounced lightly with each step.

When she saw Matthew's face clearly, she spoke right away.

"That was fast, Mr. Larden."

By her estimate, he had gone to deal with the Medusa Gang's base. Even with the fastest route, that should take at least a full night. He had only been out for a few hours.

Her gaze shifted to Ariya, who was holding Matthew's hand. The child was filthy from head to toe.

Matthew gave a faint smile. "Job's done. Why wouldn't I be back quickly?"

"Give her a bath," Matthew said.

"Who knows how long she was stuck in that place. Let her clean up and get some fresh clothes. Put it all on Morton's tab."

Kelsey reached out to Ariya with a warm smile.

"Come on, kiddo. This way."

Ariya let go of Matthew's hand and obediently walked to Kelsey's side.

A fragrant breeze swept past him as a small figure leapt onto his back.

He didn't need to guess. Only one kid would be bold enough to do that.

The little girl he had just brought back—Ariya.

Matthew silently reached back and pulled her around to face him.

But when he saw her, he blinked in surprise.

Ariya's pink hair draped softly over her shoulders. Her emerald eyes sparkled as she looked up at him.

"How's the bath? Feel better?"
