Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) novel Chapter 3619

The old man's words came out as if they were no big deal.

He showed no sign of worry that Matthew might blow up over the outrageous cost.

Matthew simply nodded with a smile. "That's perfectly reasonable. I think the fee makes sense."

Money had never meant much to Matthew.

If he had to put it into words: I don't like money.

He didn't touch it. To him, money was just a string of numbers.

And if he wanted, there were countless billionaires—even those ranked among the world's wealthiest—who would line up to hand him their fortunes.

"This ship of yours qualifies as a heavy war vessel. Standard docking fee is 300,000 Dornia Emeralds. Given its questionable background, we're doubling that for protection—so, 600,000. Add in additional handling and security charges, and the total comes to one million Dornia Emeralds. Here's the bill."

The old man pulled out a small notebook from his pocket, scribbled a few lines, and handed it over to Matthew.

Matthew glanced at the short list:

Docking fee: 300,000

Questionable origin surcharge: 600,000

Personal supervision by the old man himself: 400,000

Most people would have exploded by the third line.

Four hundred grand just so some wrinkled old guy could "keep an eye on it"? One would think it was guarded by royalty or something—no one was worth that much just to stand watch.

But Matthew didn't show the slightest objection. Without hesitation, he pulled a card from his coat.

His eyes, suddenly filled with disbelief, turned back to Matthew.

Impossible. This kid looks like he's just stepped into the beginner ranks of a martial artist. How could he possibly see through me?

A wave of power surged from the old man's body—like an ocean crashing down all at once.

He was testing him. Seeing whether Matthew had truly seen through his strength, or if he'd just gotten lucky.

But faced with this crushing pressure, Matthew didn't flinch. His stance didn't shift a hair. His smile didn't waver.

He stood there like a sea anchor in the storm, calm and unmoved.

The old man's gaze hardened as he stared.

"Truly, the younger generation always rises to surpass the old. Not bad. Very not bad. That ship of yours? Consider it under my protection. Go do what you need to do—no one will touch it."
