Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) novel Chapter 3634

Blackshore Island truly lived up to its name as one of the largest in the West Montiria Islands.

Morton's earlier excitement had completely drained, replaced by a heavy weariness.

He said they still had at least half the journey left before they'd reach the Entertainment Area.

"Matteo, I gotta sit down. I'm beat," Morton said, plopping down hard onto the ground without any care for appearances.

Sweat slicked his round face, dripping in streams.

He glanced at Matthew's forehead—spotless and dry—and immediately gave a thumbs-up, a grin full of admiration spreading across his face.

"Man, you've got some serious endurance," he said.

Matthew smiled softly.

"Probably all the farming I did back home."

Farming?

Morton frowned, confused.

He'd seen plenty of farmers before—dark-skinned, rugged from the sun.

But Matthew?

Pale, sharp-featured, and neat?

It didn't match at all.

"If the Entertainment Area's so far, why are you so dead set on going there?" Matthew asked.

Morton pushed himself up and stared at Matthew, who stood towering above him, so tall Morton had to tilt his head back to meet his eyes.

"I figured we could just find a spot closer by to gather some intel," Matthew said firmly.

Morton sighed deeply.

"I wish that were an option, but District 13's rules are strict.

"All the gambling, drugs, and other stuff?

"It's only allowed inside the Entertainment Area.

"If you get caught anywhere else, well… you're getting the bullet," he said, laughing bitterly.

Every time he went out to scout—or whatever else—he wished the place was nearer, but the rules didn't leave him any choice.

"Okay, I'm good now," Morton said, pushing himself up, a bit more energized.

"Let's keep moving.

"We should get there in less than an hour."

They continued walking side by side.

Matthew's eyes wandered over the rows of townhouses, and for a moment, his expression softened.

If it weren't for the tense atmosphere and vigilant people everywhere, he might've thought this was just any other street.

The cobblestone pavement was laid with care, and the buildings were solid, some reaching seven stories tall.

Suddenly, an idea took hold in Matthew's mind.

Blackshore Island was shielded up front by Bloodfin Bay and the Deep Sea Zone—natural defenses—and surrounded on three sides by cliffs that no one could scale.

If someone transformed this place into a military base, it would be almost impossible to break into.

If he could take control of Blackshore Island, maybe he could change everything.
