It took some time before the dim tunnel filled with the sound of scattered footsteps.

One by one, frail figures with sallow faces stepped into the light. The emptiness in their eyes began to shift, showing the faintest flicker of awareness.

The moment they saw Matthew, they all dropped to their knees.

No one could tell whether it was out of true gratitude or pure fear.

Some meant it—they were thankful he had saved their lives. Others only knelt because of the strength he had shown.

Matthew knew the difference without needing to ask.

He gave them a calm glance and said, "You don't have to kneel."

"Head back. There's a map on the wall. If you don't know the way, figure it out."

He paused for a moment.

"And don't start fighting each other. If you do… I'll deal with it."

Everyone nodded without hesitation.

As far as they could see, Matthew was alone.

And he had taken down the entire base by himself.

They didn't even dare imagine what kind of power or methods were hidden behind that.

After he spoke, Matthew didn't look back. He vanished in an instant, leaving only a faint blur behind.

The ones still kneeling rose slowly and began to step away from one another without thinking.

"Since that guy saved us, let's not start fighting over dumb stuff," someone said.

A chubby man stepped forward and grinned. "Let's just get out of here."

Outside the Medusa Gang base, Matthew stood quietly.

The abandoned construction site was overgrown with weeds and coated in dust. It looked completely lifeless on the surface.

Even so, the Medusa Gang had used this place for constant operations. People moved in and out regularly, yet every detail on the outside remained perfectly intact.
