Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) novel Chapter 3668

The Guard Corps compound was massive.

Matthew held Ariya's hand as they made their way toward the largest building in the center.

Someone like the captain of the Guard Corps would definitely have their office in the biggest building.

Once inside, Matthew glanced around. Empty—aside from a man at the front desk.

"Hi, excuse me. Could you tell me where Mr. Quinn is?" Matthew approached the counter and asked in a calm voice.

The man looked up—and for a second, Matthew was caught off guard.

Heavy, sunken eye bags. A scruffy jaw lined with stubble. Eyes that looked like they hadn't properly focused in weeks. He looked like a man who'd completely lost the will to fight.

The moment he laid eyes on Matthew's youthful, clean-cut face, something flickered in his expression—disappointment, maybe.

"Yeah… follow me."

The man looked utterly drained, which only made Matthew more curious.

He led them to an elevator and stepped inside.

"Come on in. I'm here to bring you up."

Matthew nodded and entered the elevator, Ariya practically bouncing at his side.

The man's gaze shifted toward the little girl.

Her bright smile brought something back—some old memory stirring deep in his eyes. Regret flickered in them. It lingered.

"Is she your daughter?" His voice was low, raspy.

Before Matthew could respond, Ariya stepped into the center of the elevator.

"Yup! I'm Ariya, and he's my favorite daddy in the whole wide world!"

She even spun in a full circle while saying it, the tiny horns on her headband wobbling with the motion.

"Ariya, come here. Your headband's slipping."

Matthew crouched down, gently pulling her over and adjusting the accessory with careful hands.

The man leaned against the elevator wall and looked up toward the ceiling.

"Heh… that's nice."

After securing the headband properly, Matthew stood up again.

"It's my fault. All my fault."

"Why… why did I have to take the squad out that day? Why did I leave her alone in the office?"

"If I hadn't, she wouldn't have tried to climb up on that chair—just to reach a d*mn cookie…"

He broke down, large tears falling silently down his cheeks.

"I did everything I could just to keep her alive—to keep her breathing.

"I brought in doctors from all over… even the poison specialist from District 3, the elite medical team from District 1.

"They all looked at her. Every single one of them. But in the end… no one had a solution."

"I've spent months blaming myself, searching every corner of the world for someone—anyone—who could help her.

"Not one of them could wake her up."

His bloodshot eyes locked onto Matthew's, tears still streaking down his face—but his voice had steel in it now.

"If you can bring my daughter back… Whatever you ask for, it's yours."
