Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) novel Chapter 3698

Matthew kept Ariya close to his chest as he sidestepped Drunkard's sudden swing, moving with effortless precision.

When Drunkard realized his fist had cut through nothing but air, the anger burning inside him flared even hotter.

With a furious snarl, he seized the table Matthew had been eating at only moments before, flipped it over, and raised the massive slab of marble above his head before hurling it toward him.

Matthew met the flying table with only a touch of his power, and the marble burst apart in midair, scattering into a cloud of fine dust.

The liquor coursing through Drunkard's veins twisted his rage into something far more violent.

His strikes came harder and faster, each one wild and reckless.

Matthew stood his ground as if he were a solitary vessel adrift in a raging sea, untouched no matter how the waves crashed against him.

Inside the room, chaos reigned as furniture splintered under Drunkard's rampage and sharp cracks rang out again and again.

Guards had gathered outside, yet none had the courage to cross the threshold.

To step inside now was to walk into certain death.

They all knew Drunkard was the most trusted man under Ryan.

He was a man who loved his drink, and once drunk, he became a storm that no one wanted to weather.

Whenever his drunken fits caused trouble, Ryan never did more than look the other way.

It was said that once, while drinking, Drunkard decided the night lacked spirit.

He summoned dozens of soldiers to join him, though not a single one could match his drinking.

He had a hundred jars of aged liquor brought forward.

Each jar held spirits at fifty percent strength and weighed about 11 pounds.

Drunkard lifted one in his arms, tipped it back, and drained it without stopping until it was empty.

The soldiers looked on in disbelief. Most of them could barely manage five pounds before blacking out, and ten would have laid them flat.

When none stepped forward to challenge him, Drunkard grabbed a soldier by the collar and forced the liquor down his throat.

The man choked as the burning liquid scorched his throat, his body struggling to take it in, but his resistance was no match for Drunkard's strength.

Drunkard poured without pause until the soldier had swallowed 33 pounds of liquor.

His skin turned deathly pale, and his lips turned blue.

"If you've got any guts, take my drinking challenge!" he growled, clinging to a challenge he thought he could win.

When it came to liquor, he had never known an equal.

"I'm not into drinking," Matthew replied.

His voice was cold and dismissive, and that only poured fuel on Drunkard's anger.

"I knew it. You're just scared! Ha! You worthless lightweight!"

Drunkard tried to bait him, but Matthew would not be moved.

His fury boiling over, Drunkard sprang to his feet and lunged at him.

Matthew kept Ariya safe in one arm while grabbing the curtain with the other. He spun lightly and wrapped Drunkard in the heavy fabric, binding him tight.

With a swift kick, he sent Drunkard flying through the doorway, scattering the guards outside.

Drunkard's head spun as the world swirled around him, but with a roar, he ripped through the curtain with all his strength.

Before he could hurl himself at Matthew again, a swift and nimble figure stepped in his way, halting his charge.
