Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) novel Chapter 3700

"Matteo Larden."

Matthew's reply to Rosenthal's question was nothing more than that single name, spoken with calm finality.

"And what kind of work do you do, if you don't mind me asking?" Rosenthal pressed with a polite smile.

"I am a businessman," Matthew said. "I handle small trades along the docks."

When Rosenthal realized he would get nothing more of value from the answer, his attention drifted to the girl nestled in Matthew's arms.

"Is this your daughter, Mr. Larden? Pink hair is rare. She is a striking child."

"Yes. She is my daughter."

"And her mother?"

A familiar weariness swept over Matthew. He did not have the patience to revisit the long story about his third child again.

Rosenthal's manner remained warm and courteous, yet they had only just met, and Matthew kept his guard high.

Until he knew whether Ronny Donald was friend or foe, he had no intention of revealing Ariya's true identity.

The door opened, and a procession of chefs in pristine white uniforms and towering hats entered the room. Each one carried a plate that represented the pride of his craft.

They placed their creations carefully on the marble dining table in front of Matthew, taking turns to explain where the ingredients came from, how the dishes were prepared, what flavors to expect, and what health benefits they offered.

Two graceful waitresses poured red wine into crystal glasses. The moment was not grand enough to be called a banquet, yet there was a clear sense of ritual in every movement.

When the uniformed chefs withdrew, another group came in. They wore plain, rough-spun clothing, clearly not from the villa's kitchen.

Each carried a fish of a different kind, the rich scent of freshly cooked flesh rising from their platters. The aroma caught Ariya's attention at once, and her eyes lit up.

"Dad, I want fish!" she said eagerly. Ariya's fondness for fish was beyond question.

"Mr. Larden, these are the finest fish chefs from Districts 1 through 10. I brought them here just for you, and they arrived in a hurry.

"Ariya, you can have whichever one you want."

He had already seen Matthew's skill with his own eyes, so he believed every word, yet he had never imagined that this man had destroyed the brutal Medusa Gang entirely on his own.

Rosenthal could not even bring himself to picture what kind of power such a feat required.

In that moment, his earlier warmth toward Matthew became something deeper, a respect sharpened with fear.

"Mr. Larden, our boss Ryan has been away on a mission, which is why you have not seen him these last few days. Here is what I will do. I will leave now and contact him urgently so that he can return to meet you."

Matthew gave him a single nod.

Outside the room, Rosenthal stopped to speak to the guards. His tone was grave as he ordered them to obey Matthew without hesitation.

His thoughts turned to Drunkard, and worry gnawed at him. If Ryan learned that Drunkard had gone after Matteo and even fought him, then Drunkard's fate would rest entirely in chance.

That thought made Rosenthal lengthen his stride.

He had to reach Ryan as quickly as possible, for he could not be certain his own position would be safe if the boss was displeased.
