Chapter 108 The Door That Got Kicked Down
The executives spoke with that smug, superior tone.
Amelia had met real powerhouses before, so their little act did absolutely nothing for her.
She said, “I’m exactly that ungrateful. These deals? Whoever wants them can have them.
“I’m not taking them.

“And don’t even bring up the contract. Didn’t you guys just say it yourselves? I’ve got someone backing me
now.
“Keep pushing, and I’ll let someone crush you.”
The company knew exactly what Amelia was like.
She would literally rather dig through trash outside their building than sell her bottom line.
That was exactly what they hated most about her.
Talks broke down on the spot. The executives were beyond furious.
They had never liked Amelia anyway.
Now her attitude lit the fuse. They told someone to lock the door.
One of them said, “Amelia, a no-name, no-background D-lister like you, really thinks your stubborn pride makes
you untouchable?
“We just never bothered to get serious before.
“Let me make this clear: a nobody like you could disappear tomorrow and barely anyone would notice.
“In this industry, principles are the most useless thing you can have.”
He laid it all out.
Amelia looked at the new guy in charge-Lucius Carter and instantly knew he wasn’t the type to blutf.
Going head-to-head like she used to probably wasn’t going to work this time.
The door was locked tight. Amelia’s hand slid toward he phone.
But the second her fingers touched it, Lucius gave her a mocking grin.
“No use calling for help-there are no cameras here, and no signal either.
“Relax. As long as you cooperate, I won’t hurt you.
“I’m still counting on us making money together.”
They were cornering her.
Amelia had nowhere to turn. Every nerve in her body was screaming.

Amelia suddenly smashed a glass from the table, grabbed a jagged piece, and pressed it to her own neck.
“Then I’ll die right here for you to watch!
“Let’s see how you explain my dead body to the Graham family!
And here’s the truth for you-my backer isn’t Daniel. It’s Benjamin!”
Amelia dropped all pretense of pride.
When it was time to play her trump card, she didn’t hesitate to use it.
Too bad nobody in the room believed her.
A nobody actress getting tangled with a playboy like Daniel? Totally believable.
But Benjamin? That was impossible.
The air in the room turned ice-cold and dangerous.
Time ticked by, and Amelia still hadn’t come out.
Outside, Alice was passing by when a coworker whispered that Amelia was inside. She snuck over to check.
Seeing the door locked tight made her stomach twist with worry.
She knocked and held up a fruit platter, trying to get in.
The door stayed shut. An irritated voice shouted from inside.
“Get lost! Don’t bother me!”
Right after that came the loud crash of furniture being thrown around.
Alice’s eyes went wide. She knew something was horribly wrong.
She couldn’t speak, so she just pounded on the door harder. She threw her whole body against it.
Just as her face reddened with urgency, Freya, wearing high heels, arrived.
Seeing Freya, Alice ran to her in desperation.
“Help! Help!”
Alice frantically signed the words, begging Freya to save Amelia.
Freya saw the desperation in Alice’s red eyes, and strode to the door in three steps.
Freya didn’t knock or call anyone-she kicked the door wide open with one hard kick.
As the first-in-line heir of the Wilson family, Freya was just beautiful; she was scary strong.
She trained in combat on the regular.

When the door flew open, Amelia-blood running dow her neck, head spinning from a blow-stumbled out on pure adrenaline. “Save… save me.”
She crashed into Freya, legs giving out.
Freya caught her right away and scooped her up into her arms.
Amelia’s head lolled against Freya’s shoulder, and she passed out cold.
Blood soaked into Freya’s custom suit.
Freya didn’t care about the clothes. She just held Amelia tighter. “Ms. Wilson?”
Lucius recognized Freya. He forced an awkward smile, trying to smooth things over. “What brings you here? You should’ve let us know; we would’ve greeted you properly.
“There was a bit of a misunderstanding.
“This actress is our company’s talent. We were discussing work when she suddenly lost her temper.”
