“Here you are,” Nathan said, first giving Nina a pink flower, then handing the rest of the bouquet to Amelia.
“Amelia, I came on short notice, so I didn’t have time to get anything nice,” he said. “These are from my mom-she grows them in her greenhouse. I figured you might like them.”
Nina, still standing there, glanced at the flower in her hand, then at the big bouquet in Amelia’s arms. Her face fell.
“Mommy… Mommy,” Nina said, tugging on Amelia’s shirt and holding out her single flower to her.
Nathan chuckled softly when he saw that, “This little one is such a sweetheart-she only has one flower, and she’s already offering it to you.”
Amelia didn’t say a word-she just took the flower quietly.
And sure enough, the next second, Nina pointed at the big bouquet. “Mine! Mine!” she said firmly.
Nathan watched Nina swap her tiny flower for the whole bouquet and couldn’t help laughing.
“What a little schemer,” he said, shaking his head.
She was way too smart-she even knew to swap one flower for a whole armful!
His Mia was never this tricky when she was a baby.
Amelia handed the bouquet over to Nina. Nina hugged t-almost as tall as she was—and beamed.
Finally, she was perfectly content.
Nathan watched Nina play with the flowers, his heart feeling full.
“Amelia, she’s just as cute as you were at that age,” he said softly.
Nathan had barely started talking to Amelia when his phone pinged with a WhatsApp message from Lily.
Lily sent, “Mia just came over, saying you’re sending flowers to Amelia. I told you she’s always stirring up trouble. Barry heard her, and now he’s having a tantrum because he wants to see Nina.”
It was completely dark out-Lily naturally wouldn’t take Barry over at this hour.
Of course, that just made him worse-he threw himself on the floor, kicking and screaming.
Lily tried to get him up, but he refused. She’d already walked away.
Hearing Barry still wailing, Lily was furious with Mia.
If she hadn’t run her mouth, he wouldn’t be acting like this.
Lily was clearly taking her frustration out on her husban
Nathan pulled his phone out and sent her a quick reassing message.
Then, unable to keep it in any longer, he confessed the uth, “Honey, Amelia is Mia.”

“Amelia, do you mind if we exchange WhatsApps?” he asked politely. “I don’t have yours yet.”
Amelia nodded without hesitation. “Sure,” she agreed.
The yard lights were bright, so Amelia could clearly see he red, puffy circles around Nathan’s eyes. Just like Freya’s.
Amelia remembered what Benjamin had told her-her brother and sister cared about her deeply, and they weren’t bad.
She still wasn’t sure how to act around them, but she didn’t mind exchanging contacts.
She took out her phone and added Nathan on WhatsApp.
Once they’d added each other, Nathan stared at his sister-so close, yet it all felt so surreal.
“Amelia, how have you been lately?” he asked, his voice soft. “Is there anything you need? Anything you want -just say the word.”
Nathan had no sense of distance when looking at Amelia’s face.
Now that he knew this was his sister, he just wanted to spoil her properly.
Whatever his sister wanted, he could give!
Facing Nathan’s questions, Amelia shook her head with faint smile. “I’m doing well, really. I have everything I need here. Everyone in the Graham family treats me great.”
Nathan nodded, his eyes never leaving Amelia.
The siblings just gazed at each other like that. After a long while, Nathan finally spoke and turned to leave.
If he didn’t go now, he’d start crying in front of her.
He walked away quickly with his back to Amelia.
But behind him, Amelia still saw him lift his hand to wipe tears.
Watching her real brother like this, a soft, sharp ache washed over Amelia’s chest.
Her eyes reddened a bit, too.
Just as her eyes were turning red, she looked down-and saw Nina digging in the dirt.
The tears she’d almost shed vanished in a second.
“Nina, what are you doing?” she asked.
“Mommy… plant flower. Nina plant flower,” Nina answered without looking up, using her chubby little hands to dig a hole in the ground for the flowers.
Amelia said, “These flowers can’t be planted in the soil. They only go in a vase.”
Amelia took a deep breath. No time to think about anything else–she had a child to take care of.

Chapter 204 Flowers and Connection
Time flew fast and slow with Nina’s nonstop energy.
The night grew deeper.
Nina was still awake past nine-thirty, so Amelia finally sang her a lullaby to get her to sleep.
Once Nina was out, Amelia went to the kitchen fridge, wanting some ice for a drink.
