He had never experienced anything like this before.

His own kids had always been reserved since they were little. They weren’t very cuddly, but none of them had ever given him trouble about going to school.
Even Daniel, who studied casually, always performed well academically.
None of them had ever hated going to school.
Now, seeing Nina cry and refuse to go, William desperately wanted to rush over, pick her up, and comfort her.
But he held back.
William still had his rational side.
He knew he shouldn’t interfere with Amelia’s parenting
“Nina, please be a good girl,” Amelia said.
Amelia had the backpack slung over her shoulder and Nina kicking wildly in her arms-she was exhausted.
Yet, despite Nina’s fierce resistance, Amelia didn’t lose her temper once.
She coaxed her with endless patience, “The teachers and your little friends are already waiting for you. They really miss you and want to see you.
“You’re our amazing Nina. Today is Wednesday. We only have three more days of school after this, and then we get a break. Nina, can you be good?”
Amelia’s words wore out her lips from all the talking. But Nina still refused to give in.
“No be good! No go school! Daddy! Want Daddy! Want Barry!”
Nina called for one person after another. Unfortunately no matter who she called, it didn’t help.
“Daniel, hold her backpack for me.”
Amelia didn’t ask William for help. She could see him lingering nearby, looking absolutely heartbroken over Nina.
She turned to Daniel instead.
Benjamin had told her to rely on Daniel for tasks like this.
Benjamin often teased or disciplined Daniel, but he trusted Daniel’s ability to handle serious matters.
At Amelia’s request, Daniel, whose face also showed deep sympathy, walked over and took Nina’s little backpack.
He said, “Amelia, Nina’s crying so much.”

“I know,” Amelia replied. She firmly carried the thrashing Nina outside and into the car.

On the drive, Amelia kept soothing her. But Nina cried and pounded the car window. She wouldn’t listen at
all.
When the car stopped at a red light, Nina hit the button and rolled the window down halfway.
Nina clung to the window frame and wailed loudly toward the outside.
“Save me! Save me!”
Her cries for help were so loud, people in nearby cars genuinely thought she was in trouble.
One car swerved right in front of Amelia’s vehicle. People from other cars got out and blocked her path.
“We’ve already called the police! Get out of the car now!
The passersby mistook Amelia and Daniel for human traffickers.
A traffic officer on duty at the intersection hurried over as well.
Amelia found herself completely surrounded. She felt awful.
“I’m not a trafficker. I’m her mother.”
Amelia tried to explain. But the highly righteous passersby refused to believe her.
Amelia’s headache worsened. “Nina, tell them. Am I your mommy?” Amelia asked.
But Nina didn’t cooperate.
A passerby had taken Nina into their arms. She lay on the stranger’s shoulder, wiping her tears and asking for her daddy.
Amelia took a deep breath. She had no choice but to wait for the police.
Soon, the officers arrived. Amelia showed them photos of Nina from infancy to now, along with the official documents.
After reviewing everything, she pointed to the backpack in the car and said helplessly, “I’m taking her to daycare. She doesn’t want to go. That’s why she’s throwing such a fit.”
The police understood the situation and couldn’t help but laugh, “Kids these days are all like this.”
The officer smiled and shared some stories, “We’ve had several reports at the station about kindergarten children.
“Those little ones cry and use their smartwatches to call the police, saying they’ve been kidnapped.
“We rush to the scene, and they beg us to rescue them.”
The officer’s tales of children calling the police made Amelia laugh, too.
After thanking the officers and saying goodbye, Amelia eld the still-sniffling Nina and finally managed to get her into the daycare.

The teachers there were very experienced.
When they saw Nina crying, they didn’t hesitate. They simply took her from Amelia’s arms.
The teacher urged Amelia to go, “Please leave quickly. Don’t look back at her.”
Only after walking some distance did Amelia notice tha Daniel’s eyes were red.
“Daniel, did you cry?” she asked.
“I didn’t cry.” Daniel denied stubbornly. He only asked, “Nina won’t cry like this every single day at school. right?”
Daniel truly couldn’t stand hearing Nina cry.
Amelia thought for a moment and answered, “Barry cried for a whole week when he started. Nina is probably the same.”
In the past, Nina wouldn’t have cried for long.
Before living at the Graham Residence, when Sadie watched her all day, Nina never cried.
She understood that Amelia had to work. Even though she wanted to cling to Amelia, she wouldn’t make a
scene.
But after moving into the Graham Residence, Nina had been spoiled so much that her personality grew more delicate and sensitive.
