Chapter 266 Lost Her Appetite
“Fwower! Nina want!” Nina’s loud, clear little voice couldn’t be ignored.
Jagger’s smile froze when he heard that little kid’s voice.
He looked down confusedly and saw Nina standing next to Amelia’s leg.
Nina was wearing a light blue dress, with her pretty round face tilted up talking to him.
“Nina have fwower?” To get a flower, she batted her eyes giving him her best “good girl” look.

Jagger’s smile disappeared. In a kind of mechanical voice, he asked Amelia, “Amelia? This… who is this?”
Amelia said, “My daughter. You can call her Nina. Nina, say hello.”
Listening to her mom, Nina grinned at Jagger. “Hi! Me Nina! I go school!”
Right after her enthusiastic little greeting, she touched her forehead. “I have fwower.”
She had already started her own conversation.
It took Jagger a few seconds to process that. “Nina… you’re very cute,” he said, trying to stay calm.
He said the quick compliment, then turned back to Amelia. “Amelia? Are you… married?” he asked.
Amelia shook her head. “Not yet.”
She and Benjamin had just started dating, and marriage wasn’t even on the table.
It was probably a long way off.
When he heard she wasn’t married, Jagger’s smile finally came back. “I’m not married either.”
He perked up, pulled a single rose from the bouquet, and handed it to Nina. “For you, Nina.”
Nina took it politely. “Tank you!”
After thanking him, she looked at the flower in her hand then at the huge bouquet, and blinked. “More fwower?”
Jagger chuckled and said, “Sure,” then gave her another one.
Seeing Nina about to ask for more after getting two, Amelia quickly covered her chubby mouth. “That’s enough, Nina. Those are his flowers, not yours,” she whispered.
Jagger overheard and laughed warmly, “It’s fine, Amelia. They were for you anyway. She can have as many as
she wants.”
Without waiting for Amelia to say anything about the flowers, he gestured for her to sit.
Once seated, Amelia asked the server for a high chair.
Amelia put Nina in the high chair, then took her backpack and opened it up so she could play with the toys inside.

Chapter 266 Lost Her Appetite
The two adults ordered, and then Amelia brought up the bouquet.
“Jagger, I can’t accept the roses. Between friends, it’s not appropriate,” she said with a smile.
Amelia was new to romance, not stupid.
She knew what roses symbolized.
She hadn’t expected this from him, and she couldn’t accept it.

Seeing her refuse so firmly, Jagger couldn’t resist teasing her, “Amelia, now that you’re a big star, do you look down on me? I’m doing pretty well for myself, you know. I founded a tech company here, Seacloud Technologies.”
Jagger talked about his company with a little pride in his voice.
He said it was growing rapidly.
His next step was to discuss an investment partnership with the Graham Group.
If he got that deal, his company would skyrocket.
And now that he was a successful tech entrepreneur with a stable career, he was thinking about his personal life.
Jagger was much more talkative than he had been in high school.
He talked on and on, so much that even little chatterbox Nina seemed overwhelmed.
“Mommy, eat,” Nina said as the dishes started coming out.
Seeing how eager Nina was to eat, Jagger joked, “No wonder Nina’s so chubby-she really loves food!”
The words came out quickly, before Amelia could interject.
Nina, who’d been happily waiting for her food, instantly whipped her head around to look at Jagger.
Jagger, seeing her wide-eyed expression, thought it was unny.
Using a preachy, almost uncle-like tone, he went on, “Niha, you really shouldn’t get any fatter. It’ll be hard to lose weight when you’re older. If you’re still chubby when you grow up, you won’t find a nice boyfriend.”
His last comment, said with a smile, made Amelia’s lips et in a thin line.
She had lost her appetite.
Her tone cooled down. “Nina might not even want a boyfriend when she grows up. That’ll be up to her. And if she does, she certainly won’t need to lose weight for it
“Someone will like her just the way she is, even if she’s ubby. People of all sizes fall in love.”
She’d spoken more in those few sentences than she had all night. Jagger raised an eyebrow, looking shocked, “Amelia, you’ve changed so much since high school. Youre speaking up a lot more now.”
