“You carry him over,” Daniel said.
After that, he picked Nina up and walked off first.

Once he was gone, Trevor watched his retreating figure and finally understood where Nina’s warmth and enthusiasm came from.
“Daddy, you can put me down.”
Nelson knew his father’s distant nature, so he took the initiative to ask to be set down.
Trevor fell silent for a few seconds.
A few seconds later, instead of putting Nelson back into his wheelchair, he carried him straight to the dining
room.
When Daniel saw him appear, the corner of his mouth lifted slightly.
The cold-blooded Trevor was a little better than he had expected
At least, he didn’t seem completely beyond saving.
Daniel didn’t chat much with Trevor. He was busy wiping Nina’s little hands and face with wet wipes.
Nina had drawn all over herself and looked grimy from head to toe.
Daniel wiped and wiped, but when he realized it wasn’t coming clean, he simply took her to wash up.
“No splashing the water.”
He set Nina on the sink and rubbed her hands.
At home, little Nina also liked to draw everywhere with pens.
After Amelia warned her several times and even spanked her twice, she no longer dared to draw on the
furniture or walls.
Instead, she started drawing on herself and on other family members.
Earlier in the study, Nina had not drawn on the desk at all. She had only drawn on her own hands, face, and arms, as well as Trevor’s hands and arms.
Trevor’s face had been a bit too far away for her to reach so she had not managed to draw on it.
Daniel warned, “Nina, I already told you-no splashing water. Your clothes are all wet now.”
Daniel’s words carried very little authority. Nina’s chubby little hands stayed under the faucet as she played. giggling nonstop.
Seeing that Nina wasn’t listening at all, the utterly helpless Daniel could only speed up, scrubbing quickly and decisively.
After a frantic round of washing, Nina finally went from little dirty bundle back to a clean, chubby sweetheart.

Daniel let out a breath of relief, changed her into a fresh set of clothes, and carried her to the dining table.
Her clothes had gotten wet from playing with water, and the weather was a bit cold. Daniel didn’t dare let her stay damp.
By the time Nina was all sorted out, Trevor and Nelson were already seated.
Trevor had also washed his hands and arms clean.
They were both ready to eat.
Daniel placed Nina into the high chair and said to Trevor as he did so, “Don’t let Nelson eat by himself. His arm is injured, too. At our place, he’s always fed.
“His meals are fed by Nina’s mom.
“You’re his father. Now it’s your turn.”
After casually instructing Trevor, Daniel led by example and picked up a plate of food.
He divided all the dishes Nina liked onto her plate.
Then he took a spoon and mixed the pasta.
That
way,
Nina’s favorite foods were ready to eat.
When Daniel brought the spoon over, Nina eagerly opened her mouth wide.
The spoon was piled high.
That enormous spoonful made Trevor frown slightly.
He couldn’t understand Daniel’s feeding method.
Nina’s mouth wasn’t big. One bite like that was enough to stuff her cheeks full.
Shouldn’t feeding be done in smaller portions, more frequently
Or is it that Daniel isn’t actually as doting on his niece as the outside world claims?
Is he feeding her like this just for convenience?
Trevor couldn’t help but form rather unkind suspicions about Daniel’s behavior.
Still, suspicions aside, he didn’t say anything.
He silently picked up his own plate and began feeding Nelson.
Trevor had never been close to Nelson. To him, there was no love, only responsibility.
Feeding him was simply part of that responsibility.
If he were not at home at the moment, he would have landed the task to a caregiver.
But since he was home now, he had no reason to refuse

Trevor remained as cool and detached as ever. There was little emotion in his eyes, no warrnth to speak of.
His tone carried no affection, yet Nelson’s eyes still shone brightly.
He stared at his father without blinking. That small face so similar to Trevor’s, showed no obvious emotional fluctuation.
But as Nina chewed her food and glanced at him, she said, “Nelson so happy!”
Nina could tell how Nelson was feeling.
She grinned, her little mouth stretching wide. “Nina so happy!”
“Un-coo Dan’el, you happy?” she asked.
Daniel replied, “I’m not happy.”
Nina tilted her chubby little face, puzzled. “Why?”
Daniel said with utter resignation, “Nina, you’re not eating properly again.
“Hurry up and swallow the food in your mouth.
“Holding food like that isn’t good for your teeth.”
The reason Daniel always fed Nina such big spoonfuls wasn’t because he wanted to save effort. It was because the entire Graham family fed Nina this way.
The whole family followed the same feeding pattern for one simple reason.
When Nina first started eating, she was especially enthusiastic, and feeding her big bites made it possible to get more food into her while she was still eager to eat.
