Chapter 409 Endless Chatter
Nina wanted to find Nelson and Violet.
Daniel fed her another bite while coaxing her, “Two more big bites. Take two big bites, and then I’ll take you to find Nelson.”
He fed her the same way Amelia did, with big spoonfuls.
Nina had to open her mouth wide every time.
Halfway through the meal, Nina fussed to watch TV. Otherwise, she wanted to get down and play.
Daniel coaxed and pleaded, taking over an hour to finish feeding her.
“Alright, you can watch a little TV after eating,” he said.
Daniel remembered what Amelia said about not letting Nina get used to watching TV during meals. He had held off until now.
Now that she was done eating, he let her watch for a bit.
While Nina watched cartoons, Daniel could finally grab a bite to eat himself.
He was hungry, too.
Taking care of a child was exhausting. A high-energy child like Nina was even more tiring.
Daniel quickly ate his fill, then took Nina’s phone away. Before she could pout, he picked her up and suggested going out to play.
Hearing “go out to play,” Nina’s pout vanished instantly.
“Un-coo Dan’el, find Nelson?” she asked.
Daniel said, “Sure. Let’s go find Nelson.”
He carried her, but after a couple of steps, he hesitated. “Nina, don’t you want to go home for a nap? Maybe we should nap first, then find Nelson. It’s not like he’s going anywhere.”
Daniel knew Nina had been sick and had a fever.
Even though she wasn’t feverish now, he thought more rest would do her good.
As soon as Daniel suggested it, Nina shook her head. “No home.”

Nina refused to go home, and she refused to nap.
Her chubby finger pointed firmly outside. “Find Nelson.”
Daniel couldn’t win against her.
He sighed and agreed to go find Nelson now.
Daniel called Trevor first for the address.
Soon, they were on their way.
When they arrived, Trevor had already brought Nelson and Grace home. Lester hadn’t arrived yet.
The moment she saw Nelson, Nina ran over.
She hadn’t even let him get his footing before she threw herself at him.

But she wasn’t done complaining.
The little chatterbox had a lot more to say, and it was all about this-the baby was gone, she didn’t want the baby now, Benjamin was asleep, and William had gone out without her…
Trevor listened to her endless chatter.
Grace also came over to listen.
All three were gathered around Nina.
Daniel took the opportunity to be lazy. He leaned casually against the sofa, stealing a moment of rest.
Grace was learning their language, but she wasn’t very good yet.
She couldn’t understand what Nina was saying.
This time, Nelson wasn’t acting as translator for her.
Trevor translated for Grace.
Grace expressed concern for Nina and even kissed her little cheek.
Nina giggled at the kiss.
After playing with the adults for a while, Nina got bored.
She couldn’t stay still and started exploring Trevor’s house.
Nina had never been to Trevor’s house before.
Everything was new and interesting.
She ran out to the front yard and started playing a game in the open space.
Her game was messy. It was a contest to make hot dogs out of wet mud.
The wet mud was sourced on the spot, dug up by Nina with a little shovel.
Nelson and Nina sat down together to play with mud.
Before long, Nina was a mess, almost unrecognizable. Her once-clean little clothes looked filthy.
Nelson was a bit better and wasn’t nearly as dirty as she was.

Nina said, “Nelson, Nina poop.”
She hadn’t managed to shape the mud into a hot dog. She’d made a poop instead.
Nelson looked at the poop she’d made and, for once, didn’t reach out to take it.
He didn’t take it, and she wasn’t making it for him anyway.
Nina was very pleased with her own creation.
