Chapter 528 If She Looked Fat

Daniel grew anxious watching Nina throw such a big fit.

He pulled out his phone, recorded a short video of her, and sent it straight to Benjamin.

Daniel typed, “Nina’s throwing a tantrum, wanting to find you. See for yourself-none of us can calm her down at all. What do we do now?”

Benjamin called Amelia right away.

He said, “Amelia, I’m over at Hugh’s place. Do you wanna bring Nina and come join us? Stella’s here, too.”

Amelia hadn’t planned on going out again, but she agreed the second she heard Stella was there.

“Nina, wanna go find Daddy?” Amelia asked softly after replying to Benjamin.

Nina yelled out loud without hesitation, “Yeah.”

She’d been desperate to see Benjamin this whole time.

Benjamin sent over the address, and soon, a driver dropped Amelia and Nina off at Riley Manor.

As soon as they arrived, Nina spotted Forrest and Jack hanging around, too.

Normally, she’d run over to greet them first.

This time, she hurried over on her little short legs and threw herself straight at Benjamin’s legs.

“Daddy.” Nina wrapped her arms tightly around his legs, clearly wanting to be picked up.

Benjamin lifted her into his arms and talked gently to her for a moment.

Nina didn’t stay chatting long. She looped her arms around his neck and pressed her chubby cheek right against his. “Daddy, no die. Nina wuv you.”

Benjamin nodded softly. “I won’t die.”

Forrest and Jack overheard their talk and couldn’t help but laugh.

Hugh let out a quiet chuckle, too.

His smile faded fast, though, and he sighed with a heavy heart.

Stella was there in the house as well, sitting on the living room sofa, watching TV, and paying him no mind at all.

The group of men was chatting casually on the lounge sofas on the other side of the room.

They’d planned this get-together specifically to cheer Hugh up.

He’d been in a really low mood lately.

Benjamin stayed over chatting while holding Nina, and Amelia went to keep Stella company instead.

With Nina now there to keep him occupied, Hugh stopped joining the other men’s conversation.

He took Nina into his own arms and started playing with her.

Nina hadn’t eaten any dinner yet, though Amelia and Benjamin had both already had their meals.

Luckily, Riley Manor always had plenty of food ready to serve.

Benjamin went to fix a plate of food, and Hugh volunteered right away to feed Nina.

Nina snuggled with Benjamin for a while longer, then let Hugh’s father, Marvin, hold her.

Soon, she wiggled down to the floor to wander around and play on her own.

She was curious about every corner of Riley Manor, wandering from spot to spot, touching and looking at everything.

Hugh followed slowly behind her with the plate, spoon-feeding her as she walked.

Nina eventually wandered over to where Amelia and Stella were sitting.

Amelia shook her head fondly at the sight of Hugh chasing after her to feed her.

She said, “Nina, why do you let everyone feed you again? You know how to eat all by yourself.”

‘Mommy, Nina no.” Nina lied without a second thought.

She could feed herself perfectly fine back at Sunbeam Daycare-she even knew how to put her own shoes

But the second she left daycare, she acted like she couldn’t do anything at all.

Hugh laughed warmly behind her and stepped in to cover for her. “It’s fine. She’s still little, and it’s easier for grown-ups to feed her. Besides, I don’t mind doing it one bit.

He kept trying to feed her until Nina suddenly climbed right up onto Stella’s lap.

She pressed her soft, chubby cheek against Stella’s stomach, giggling and touching it with her tiny hands.

Stella froze for a moment, then lifted Nina up into her arms.

A faint, curious frown tugged at her pretty features.

She asked. “Nina, do you think I’ve gotten fat? My tummy feels a little rounder lately.”

Stella had been thinking about going on a diet these past few days, convinced she’d put on weight.

Hugh swore up and down that she hadn’t gained a pound, but none of his words got through to her.

Stella was annoyed with Hugh lately and couldn’t be bothered listening to anything he said.

She didn’t know Nina was hurt.

She’d been too busy crying and begging for Benjamin back home to mention it earlier.

Amelia reminded Nina to be more careful while playing from now on. She decided to just leave this small crape alone to heal naturally-little bumps and scrapes like this happened to Nina every other day
