Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time novel Chapter 737

Chapter 737

Jimmy was genuinely shaken after hearing everything Daphne had laid out.

Even so, something still held him back.

He pulled his gaze away upon hearing Yves’ question.

“I’m fine.”

Yves studied him carefully and spoke again, voice cautious.

“Jimmy, look, the thing is-”

“I know what you are about to say,” Jimmy cut him off, his tone calm and unshaken. “But I trust her character.”

Yves blinked in complete surprise. “Huh?”

Even with all the evidence stacked against Maggie right now, Jimmy still chose to believe her.

He had never realized his friend could be this love-addled, blinded by his feelings.

Beside them, Rex’s features darkened.

“Jimmy-”

Over on the other side of the ballroom, Glen stood frozen after Daphne finished her speech.

He had never imagined the history between Maggie and Franklin unfolded the way Daphne described.

Daphne could tell how stunned he was. Once she finished her rant, she let out a sharp scoff in his direction.

Her stare practically shouted: I warned you. She has done plenty of disgusting things you have never even heard about.

Glen turned toward Maggie.

She stood half-turned away from him, so he could not read the expression on her face.

Still, the impression Maggie had left on him felt real. He simply could not bring himself to believe she was capable of such terrible acts.

He pressed his lips tight, shot one quick glance at Daphne, then looked away.

Daphne’s smile froze. She had not expected Glen to still stand by Maggie at this critical moment.

Anger flared across her features, yet she let out a cold huff and dropped the subject, turning her attention dont

Daphne’s accusations about Maggie hit him with yet another heavy jolt.

Once he fully processed her words, his mind cleared. A surge of overwhelming joy flooded his chest. He whipped his head toward Julia, barely able to contain the elation burning in his eyes.

I knew it. I just knew she would never do something like that.

Her silence earlier must have come from inner turmoil, not guilt. She simply had not known how to answer under all those eyes.

Thinking about how many years Julia had endured the cruel label of home-wrecker while staying with Franklin, Yale’s heart ached for her. His gaze toward Maggie turned icy and sharp.

Dr. Mercer was equally stunned. He stared over at Maggie, completely lost for words.

Guests kept murmuring among themselves, yet every pair of eyes in the ballroom remained locked on Maggie and Johnny.

Everyone waited, eager to hear what rebuttal the two of them would offer next.

One guest could not hold back and voiced what many were thinking.

“I guess this has to be the end of it, right?”

“Probably…”
