They doubled over laughing. Chloe froze for a split second, stunned by my words. Then she burst out laughing too.
“If you’re a Sterling, then what am I? I sure as hell don’t have a crazy sister like you. Disgusting!”
Damien stared at my broken, bleeding body. He frowned slightly–pity and disgust warring in his eyes. Then he spoke, voice dripping with condescension.
“I had no idea you were this pathetic. A compulsive liar. Desperate for status. You should stop embarrassing yourself. If Mr. Sterling hears about this, you’ll get way worse than this.”
“Just get on your knees and beg Chloe for forgiveness. Kowtow a few times. Once she’s satisfied, she’ll let you go…”

I cut him off. Spat out a mouthful of blood. And laughed.

My eyes locked onto his–burning with hatred. His pupils contracted. Rage flared across his face.
