**Her Spark Ignites Tonight**
By J.S. Caldwell
Chapter 199

Arabella discreetly glanced at her phone, her heart racing as she checked the time. After quickly typing a message to Georgina, she fabricated an excuse about needing to visit the restroom. The urgency of the moment propelled her forward, her mind racing with the implications of what was about to unfold.

As she slipped out of the private dining room, Georgina remained behind, her grip tightening around her phone, a clear sign of her growing agitation. The atmosphere in the room felt charged, and Georgina could sense the tension in the air.

Moments later, gathering her resolve, Georgina turned to Jayceon, her voice wavering slightly. “Mrs. Melendez has been gone for quite a while now. I’m starting to feel a bit anxious. I think I’ll go check on her.”

Jayceon merely nodded, his attention elsewhere, and Georgina took a deep breath as she stood up, her mind racing with thoughts of what could be happening.

In an isolated private dining room at the far end of the hall, Arabella confronted Georgina, her voice low but urgent. “If you linger any longer, the party will wrap up before you can make your move. Do you really want to bring your child into the Melendez family or not?”

Georgina’s anxiety was palpable. She placed a hand on her chest, her voice trembling as she replied, “There are so many people in that room, and Jay is right there! I’m terrified.”

Arabella, feeling the weight of the situation, began to pace restlessly. Jayceon was known for his impressive tolerance to alcohol; he rarely succumbed to intoxication. But tonight, something felt off. He had a peculiar habit: once he left the room, he wouldn’t touch a glass that had been previously used. Even more perplexing was the fact that he hadn’t stepped out for a smoke break, a ritual he usually adhered to without fail.

Georgina, her nerves frayed, subtly slipped a small vial of the drug to Arabella. “What if I switch places with you? You take a chance,” she suggested, her voice barely above a whisper.

Arabella recoiled slightly, pushing Georgina’s hand away. “If I just swap seats with you now, Jayceon will definitely grow suspicious. It’s too risky.”

Her plan had been to slip the drug into Jayceon’s drink herself, but in a twist of fate, Samuel had unwittingly maneuvered Georgina right next to him. Kimberly had gone through the trouble of ensuring Arabella had a prime seat, only for Selu to whisk her away.

Jayceon was a man of strategy; if Arabella switched seats now, it would be akin to confessing everything.

With determination, Arabella pressed on, her voice firm yet encouraging. “Georgina, you need to gather your courage and do this. Don’t let fear hold you back. You have two choices: either you can get pregnant and leverage that to secure your position, or I can orchestrate a scandal that forces Jayceon to take responsibility. The choice is yours, and I’ll support you either way.”

Arabella had always harbored the misconception that Leandro was Jayceon’s biological son, believing that Georgina and Jayceon had once been lovers. She thought Jayceon’s protective nature towards them stemmed from a rekindled romance. However, the reality was starkly different; Jayceon had drawn a definitive line, making it clear that his actions were merely a way to settle a debt, shattering Arabella’s illusions about him.

If he discovered her plan to drug him, Arabella knew he would unleash his wrath upon her, regardless of the outcome. Since Georgina was willing to take the risk, she had to seize this opportunity. First, she would secure her place as Jayceon’s woman, and then she would strategize her next move.

With a surge of bravery, Georgina rolled the dice, and to her surprise, it landed on a nine.

A wave of disappointed sighs rippled through the crowd, and Arabella leaned closer, her voice urgent. “Georgina, remember you took cold medicine before coming here, so you can’t drink.”

Arabella’s eyes darted around, desperately trying to communicate her concern without drawing attention.

Samuel chimed in, eager to reassure her, “Don’t worry if you can’t drink. You’ve got Jay, right?”
