Chapter 1422 -1422: Changes in the Cloud Sect
Seeing Justin Vasquez return, Ethan Smith hurried over.
“Mr. Vasquez, how did it go?” Ethan Smith asked with some anticipation.
A hint of seriousness surfaced on Justin Vasquez’s face.
He led Ethan Smith to sit down and then spoke in a grave tone, “There is some bad news.”
“Bad news?” Ethan Smith’s brows furrowed slightly.
Justin Vasquez nodded and said, “In recent days, a change has occurred in the Cloud Sect. The sect master suddenly declared he would retreat for cultivation. For now, the sect is temporarily under the governance of the First Elder.”
Upon hearing this, Ethan Smith’s face immediately turned somewhat unsightly.
In all of the Cloud Sect, the one who despised Ethan Smith the most was probably the First Elder who now received control.
If he were to take over the sect, he would certainly spare no effort in hunting Ethan Smith down, possibly without regard for the consequences!
“Why so sudden…” Ethan Smith murmured softly, his brows furrowed tight.
Justin Vasquez sneered, “Isn’t it obvious? The Leader of the Cloud Sect is clearly wary of the forces behind you, but he also has to act against you. So he’s chosen to conveniently step aside and avoid the headwinds.”
“If nothing goes wrong, well and good. If something happens, the First Elder will carry the blame.”
There was no denying that Justin Vasquez’s analysis was sound.
Choosing to cultivate in seclusion at this time was clearly out of fear.
Ethan Smith’s face was sullen, unsure of how to react for the moment.
“Let’s wait a bit longer and see whether the First Elder makes a move,” Ethan Smith suggested.
Justin Vasquez, however, shook his head: “I advise you not to wait. Once he fully executes his orders, you won’t even be able to flee.”
Ethan Smith turned to Justin Vasquez, “Mr. Vasquez, any ideas?”
Justin Vasquez replied gravely, “I’ll get you out of the Southern Province immediately. Recently, the vigilance of the Cloud Sect has relaxed significantly. It should still be okay.”
Activating a teleportation formation was not something an ordinary person could afford.
Activating a formation needed a lot of teleportation stones, these stones were extremely precious. It was said that the cost of each teleportation was at least ten million magic coins, and they were priceless.
Even if you had money, you might not be able to activate a teleportation formation.
“Mr. Smith, we cannot waste time. I’ll set off right away,” Justin Vasquez insisted earnestly.
Ethan Smith nodded, “Alright, just be careful.”
Justin Vasquez didn’t say much else. He turned around and left the Vasquez family once again.
It wasn’t until the next day that Justin Vasquez returned.
With a gloomy look, he reported, “It’s too late. The First Elder has already sprung to action.”
Outside.
Justin Vasquez let out his divine sense, covering more than half of the Vasquez family.
Soon, two figures walked over from a distance.
These were two attractive ladies. One of them was Guinevere Lee, whom Ethan Smith knew.
“Why is it you, Guinevere?” Justin Vasquez said, slightly shocked to see her.
Guinevere Lee chuckled, “Why not? Can’t I come here?”
Justin Vasquez shook his head, “No, it’s not that. I was just surprised.”
After that, Justin Vasquez led Guinevere Lee to the pavilion nearby and took a seat.
As the Vasquez family didn’t employ any servants, Justin Vasquez had to do things himself.
He poured Guinevere Lee a cup of tea and then laughed, “Your sudden visit undoubtedly means you have something on your mind.”
Guinevere Lee took a sip of the tea, then said solemnly, “Have you heard about the recent events in the Cloud Sect? The First Elder is acting like a madman, deploying nearly all the resources of the Cloud Sect and all its’ treasures, swearing to find Ethan Smith.”
Justin Vasquez grunted in response, “I just found out as well.”
“We have once had a brief encounter with him, so there might be some trouble headed our way,” Guinevere Lee sighed.
Then, she said with a hint of resentment, “I thought Ethan Smith had potential and a promising future. Little did I know he is a fool, getting us into trouble because of him. Indeed, talented individuals often die young.”
