My CEO HUSBAND sign the divorce novel Chapter 254

Chapter 254: Lunch with president Evan

"Mummy, what happened?"

Aimy’s innocent voice sounded beside me.

I looked up at her and forced a smile.

"Nothing, baby. Don’t worry."

With both front tires down, changing one wasn’t even an option anymore.

I pulled out my phone and dialed Aunt Margaret’s number.

"Hello, Alicia?"

Her gentle voice came through immediately.

"Aunt, I’ve got two flat tires at the park. Could you ask the driver to come pick us up?"

"How did that happen?"

Her voice instantly became concerned.

"The driver was sent on an errand just now, but wait—I’ll come get you myself."

"No, Aunt, it’s alright."

Everyone in the mansion knew how to drive, so we only kept one driver who usually handled errands around town.

The last thing I wanted was to trouble her.

"Just ask him to pick us up on his way back."

"No, Alicia, you can’t just stay there waiting"

"We’re still at the park," I interrupted gently.

"We’ll be fine. It might even take longer if you leave the mansion yourself."

She was silent for a moment.

Then she sighed.

"Alright. I’ll call him right away and tell him to hurry."

"Thank you, Aunt."

After hanging up, I slipped my phone back into my bag and looked down at Aimy.

"Come on, baby."

I reached for her hand.

"Let’s go sit on a bench while we wait for the driver."

She nodded obediently.

Together, we walked toward one of the nearby benches beneath the shade of a large tree.

I glanced down at Aimy.

"Baby, you must be hungry, right?"

She nodded immediately.

"Alright. Should we ask the driver to stop by the restaurant so you can have your favorite pasta?"

A bright smile instantly appeared on her face.

Just as we were about to sit down on the bench, a black car pulled up in front of us.

The vehicle looked familiar, though it definitely wasn’t from our garage.

I paused and instinctively looked toward it.

The tinted window rolled down, revealing President Evan’s calm face.

"President Evan?"

Surprise slipped into my voice.

"What are you doing here?"

He turned his head slightly.

"I was passing by when I saw you standing beside your car."

His gaze shifted toward Aimy.

For the first time, I noticed his usually indifferent expression soften.

"And who’s this young lady?" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

I crouched and lifted Aimy into my arms.

"This is my daughter, Aimy."

Then I looked at her.

"Say hello."

Aimy blinked once before speaking.

"Hii."

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

"Hello, Aimy."

I was genuinely surprised by how gentle his voice sounded.

Then his attention returned to me.

"What happened to your car?"

"Flat tires."

"Oh."

He glanced toward the vehicle.

"That’s unfortunate."

Then he opened the passenger-side door.

"Get in. I’ll drop you off."

"No need. The driver will be here soon"

"Do you plan on standing here with her until then?"

He cut me off calmly.

I hesitated.

The supermarket was on the other side of town, and if the driver still had errands to finish, we could be waiting for quite a while.

My gaze drifted to Aimy.

She was already looking tired.

"Put her in the back."

His tone left little room for argument.

"I’ll take you home."

After a moment, I sighed.

"Alright."

I opened the back door and settled Aimy into her seat before fastening her seatbelt.

Then I walked around and entered the passenger seat.

Once he was sure we were settled, he started the engine.

A few minutes later, Aimy suddenly spoke.

"Mummy?"

"Yes, baby?"
