We stopped at a jewelry store and went inside. The manager seemed to be expecting us because he was already waiting at the entrance. He guided us into a private room.
Several pieces of jewelry were displayed on the table—new collections, it seemed.
One bracelet immediately caught my attention. It was an emerald bracelet with a glassy blue background. Somehow, it reminded me of Alexander’s blue eyes.
The manager soon returned with a beautifully decorated small box.
"CEO Blackwood, here’s the bracelet," he said as he placed it on the table and opened it.
My eyes widened.
At first glance, it looked simple, but it was made from rare stones found only in the mountains of the region Nana came from. The craftsmanship was exquisite—it must have taken a long time to make.
Alexander must have had it custom-made for Grandma long ago.
"It’s beautiful," I said softly.
"Indeed it is," the manager replied proudly.
Suddenly Alexander spoke.
"Bring that bracelet."
He pointed to the one I had been admiring earlier. The manager quickly brought it over.
"This is one of our newest collections," he explained. "It’s the only one of its kind in the world right now."
Alexander turned to me.
"You like it, right?"
I furrowed my brows in surprise. Seeing my confused expression, he turned back to the manager.
"Pack both of them."
A strange warmth spread through my chest .
Alexander must have noticed me staring at it earlier.
He pulled out his card and paid.
"Thank you," I said once we got back into the car.
The ride home was silent, we finally reached and was about to exit the car,Alexander’s phone suddenly rang.
"Hello, Lilian... Okay, I understand. I’ll be right there."
Then he turned to me.
"Alicia, go in first. I have to leave."
"Mm."
