My Child and I Married a Billionaire novel Chapter 110

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: What a Pair of Beautiful Legs

Annabelle Young and Simone Vaughn scurried away from the crowd in disgrace. The banquet hall manager and the waitstaff also tactfully withdrew.

When Cecelia Archer came out after washing her hands, Zeke Walton finally saw the state her dress was in.

"What happened to your dress? The banquet hasn’t even started, and it’s already this dirty?"

"Your fiancée did me the favor of throwing a glass of juice on me."

Cecelia Archer glanced down at her stained dress.

"But it doesn’t matter. This dress never really suited me, so it’s fine that it’s stained. I’m not going to the gala anymore. It works out, since Mr. Grant isn’t feeling well. I’ll just leave with him now."

’She wants to leave with Shane Grant? Is it like I’m not even here?’

Shane Grant had already put his shoes and socks back on, looking refined and presentable once more. Damien Vaughn shot him a cold glance.

"Cecelia Archer, have you forgotten who you came with tonight?"

"Zeke, don’t you have a spare dress?"

He didn’t.

But how could a little thing like this possibly stump Zeke Walton?

He took out a pair of scissors. "I just need to alter it a bit. It’s not worth skipping the whole gala over. Here, let me handle this."

With that, he walked over to Cecelia Archer and knelt down. Starting from the juice-splashed area, he took the scissors to the fabric. SNIP, SNIP, RIIIP! The entire lower half of the dress was sheared off, transforming the floor-length gown into a short cocktail dress that ended above her knees.

Cecelia Archer’s long, fair, and perfectly straight legs were instantly revealed.

Zeke Walton admired her legs again and again, completely satisfied.

"This dress should never have been so long in the first place. It was a crime to hide those amazing legs. Now, it’s perfect."

He stood up and gave Damien Vaughn a smug raise of his eyebrows.

"What do you think, Vaughn? Doesn’t she look even more perfect now?"

’She did look beautiful, and her amazing figure was on full display.’

’What a shame that eyesore, Shane Grant, got to see it too.’

"What is this garbage you designed? I’m not hiring you again."

He offered his arm to Cecelia Archer. "Let’s go. Out with me."

With the dress now so much shorter, and feeling exposed from both her low neckline and high hemline, Cecelia Archer felt incredibly insecure.

Besides, she didn’t know a single person out there and genuinely didn’t want to attend.

"Can we please not go? I can’t hold my liquor, and I don’t know anyone. Besides, Mr. Grant..."

’She just can’t get over Shane Grant, can she? How many times has she glanced at him in the last few minutes? She won’t stop talking about him!’

Remembering the sight of the two of them together earlier, Damien Vaughn’s temper flared.

"So what is it you want? To stay here and catch up with Mr. Grant? Perhaps I shouldn’t have opened the door just now? Was I interrupting something?"

Cecelia Archer: "..."

Shane Grant understood now—Cecelia Archer had come with Damien Vaughn tonight.

He had never been able to figure out the exact nature of the relationship between Cecelia Archer and Damien Vaughn.

First, Damien Vaughn had doted on Candy, and now he was speaking to Cecelia Archer with such an intensely possessive tone...

Hadn’t Cecelia Archer said that the child’s father had been found and that she was going to reconcile with him? Could it be that Candy’s father was Damien Vaughn?

He slowly rose from the sofa. "Cecelia Archer, aren’t you going to explain? You said the child’s father had returned and told me to stay away from you. So, the child’s father is President Vaughn all along?"

"..."

Caught off guard by the question under these circumstances, Cecelia Archer’s eyes darted away, unwilling to answer.

"Why does everyone have so many questions? Let’s just go. I’ll go out with you."
