My Child and I Married a Billionaire novel Chapter 235

Chapter 235: Chapter 235: Steamed Buns with Pickled Vegetables

Amina was in no mood to sleep.

Fortunately, it was already past 3:00 AM. She lay in bed, sick with worry, for another two-plus hours until it was time to get up.

She got dressed, moved a stool, and sat outside the curtain to wait for her uncle to leave for work.

Seeing how much this was affecting her, Zeke Walton couldn’t help but worry for her too.

He picked up the ragged sweater he’d decided against wearing, walked to her side, and waited with her.

"Does he always go to work this early?"

"More or less. I can’t sleep anyway, so I’m just waiting for him early."

The two of them stared blankly at the floor on the other side of the curtain. Around 6:30, their wait paid off.

Her uncle came rushing out on his electric scooter, yawning.

Amina darted forward to meet him, startling him.

"What are you doing? Are you trying to get yourself killed, jumping in front of my scooter!"

"Uncle," Amina said, completely ignoring his tirade.

"You’ll delete that video from last night, right? I won’t tell anyone what happened, and you’d better not go spreading rumors either."

Her uncle glanced back. No one was following him.

"So now you’ve decided to care about your reputation? Why didn’t you think about that when you were letting men climb into your bed? I really didn’t think you were this kind of person, Amina!"

"It’s not what you think, Uncle..."

Seeing Amina’s meekness, Zeke knew this old bastard would only take a mile if given an inch. He stepped in front of her.

"Cut the crap. I’m giving you three seconds. Take out your phone, delete it, and agree to Amina’s terms."

Although her uncle was in his forties and not very tall, he fancied himself a seasoned scoundrel who knew his way around the block.

He looked at Zeke’s scrawny frame, the bloodstains and holes in his clothes, and laughed with contempt.

"Give *me* three seconds? Who the hell do you think you are, you little son of a bitch? You think sleeping with her a couple of times gives you the right to talk to me? I..."

Zeke had been bottling up his anger for two days and had finally found an outlet. He clenched his jaw.

Before Amina could even see what was happening, Zeke had yanked her uncle off the scooter and pinned him to the ground.

The scooter crashed to the side with a CLANG. Zeke pressed a knee into her uncle’s chest and wrapped one hand around his throat, choking him until his face turned crimson and the whites of his eyes rolled back.

With his other hand, Zeke felt around the man’s pockets, quickly found the phone, and hurled it against a distant wall.

SMASH. The phone shattered into pieces.

He turned back and, with his free hand, struck the uncle across the face. SLAP! SLAP!

"I shouldn’t even waste my breath on an old, rotten piece of scum like you, but lucky for you, I have some time on my hands today. Consider it me doing the world a favor. I’m warning you, I’m letting you live today to give you a chance. If you don’t appreciate it, next time it won’t just be a phone and a few slaps. Try me if you don’t believe it."

With that, he released the man’s neck, stood up, and kicked him hard in the thigh.

"Scram, unless you want your wife and the neighbors to see this!"

Her uncle never expected this kid, who looked so frail, to be this strong.

His phone was destroyed and his scooter was damaged, and he couldn’t just swallow this humiliation. He wanted to fight, but a wise man doesn’t fight when the odds are against him.

’He can’t follow Amina around 24/7, can he? I’ll get my revenge on my delivery route later!’

He scrambled to his feet, his eyes filled with hatred. The first thing he did was reach for the shattered phone, but Zeke beat him to it, picked it up, and smashed it again.

"Get lost!"

Watching her uncle flee in disgrace, Amina finally breathed a sigh of relief. At least the phone had been dealt with.

But at the same time, a new problem arose.

"He won’t let me go."

Zeke picked up the broken phone, tossed it into a puddle, and nudged Amina back "home."

"Then listen to me and move. You’re better off without a relative like that."

It wasn’t that Amina didn’t want to move; she’d already told Zeke—she had no money.
