My Child and I Married a Billionaire novel Chapter 238

Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Mocked by the Crowd

Amina had always longed to study. Unfortunately, she’d never had any support, time, or money.

Now with Zeke’s support, she felt as if she could see a bright future and was determined to seize the opportunity.

She got right to it.

The next day, she went out and bought books to study. Meanwhile, Zeke took her phone and electric scooter and started delivering food.

Using the delivery app was surprisingly simple. Zeke learned how in just a few minutes and soon accepted his first-ever order.

He felt a thrill of novelty and freedom as he zipped through the streets and alleys of Veridia, and the morning flew by.

His stomach was growling with hunger. Just as he was about to stop and take a break, he received a big order.

A media company had ordered fifty cups of milk tea and some snacks.

The name of the media company was familiar, and he knew he probably shouldn’t take the order. But the thought of the money he’d earn made him accept it without a second thought.

Stepping into the spacious, bright office building with two large bags in hand, he suddenly felt out of place.

Places like this used to feel like home to him, but now... His delivery uniform and cheap clothes made him feel like an awkward intruder.

He silently prayed he wouldn’t run into anyone he knew. Keeping his head down, he dropped the delivery at the front desk as quickly as he could and dashed into the elevator. Despite his efforts, an all-too-familiar childhood friend spotted him.

Soon, a photo of him made its way into an alumni group chat.

"Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Or does someone really look this much like him? Guys, take a look for me. Is this Zeke?"

"I heard he had a falling out with his family and ran away, but surely it’s not so bad that he’s delivering food now, right? And to our company, of all places."

The photo caused a huge stir. Everyone had already been gossiping with relish about him running away from home, and when they zoomed in, who else could it be?

His outfit might be a world apart from his usual style, but Zeke was tall and long-legged; not many people could make a uniform look that good. Plus, even in a candid shot, his features were still incredibly sharp. It was a rare sight.

"I’d bet anything, it’s one hundred percent him. What on earth did Zeke fight with his family about? He must be dead set on this, choosing to deliver food rather than go home. This has to be a first for our circle."

"I heard he’s not straight, something about him being a bottom. Could his family have found out? His parents would never accept that. He’s in deep trouble now."

"No way. I heard he’s engaged to Simone Vaughn from the Vaughn Family. He can’t be a bottom, right?"

"I don’t think it looks much like him. Even if he fought with his family, he has his own fashion design studio. Why would he be delivering food? It’s probably just a look-alike. You guys should stop spreading rumors."

"Hey, I’ve got an idea. Why don’t I order some delivery and see for myself? Anyone want to bet on it? Let’s wager on whether it’s really him."

"Great idea! If we’re doing this, let’s go big. I’ll put down 10,000. Who’s in?"

"Count me in."

"Why bother ordering more food? What if he doesn’t take the order? Then our bets are for nothing. Just let me get him to come back. We’ll have our answer in ten minutes."

With that, the childhood friend who had ordered the milk tea asked the receptionist to call Zeke.

"Hello, we seem to be missing a few straws for our milk tea. Could we trouble you to make another trip over? We’ll pay you for it."
