My Child and I Married a Billionaire novel Chapter 278

Chapter 278: Chapter 278: Who Did You Spend Last Night With?

Back in his car, he plugged in his charger. It was already past ten in the morning.

The moment he turned it on, a flood of messages and missed calls poured in.

Besides the New Year’s greetings and red envelope exchanges, Brandon Jacobs and Wyatt Wynn had also sent a ton of messages, telling him to come hang out at the club.

’This is what this bunch of rich kids are like. No, I should say everyone in the country—except for that idiot Amina—is like this for the first few days of the New Year.’

They’d get together with either relatives or friends to eat and drink, not going home until they were completely wasted.

He’d spent every New Year’s for the past few years at Brandon Jacobs’s club. Since going home would be boring anyway, he gave Brandon a call back.

Brandon Jacobs, true to form, opened his mouth with nothing but taunts.

"Where’d you run off to last night? I texted you, no reply. Called you, phone’s off. Got a new flame? Spend the New Year with someone?"

"Attaboy, Zeke Walton. You’ve always got game when you want it. Where are you now? With them? Who is it? Guy or girl? Bring them over, let us meet them."

Zeke used to not understand why Simone was always laying into their group, constantly looking at them with disdain. Now, he got it.

’So despicable.’

Even though they were grown men—Brandon Jacobs, Wyatt Wynn, and his former self—they really were such smart-asses.

"Can’t I just turn off my phone and get a good night’s sleep for once? All you have in that damn head of yours is sex."

Brandon didn’t buy it. "Well, well, well. Haven’t seen you in a few days, and starting a business has made you all proper. Fine, fine. Come on over and we’ll talk. It’s hard to get the full story over the phone. I’m dying to see just how much of an upstanding gentleman you’ve become."

Soon enough, Zeke Walton arrived at the largest private room in Club DL.

He could hear the deafening noise from inside before he even pushed the door open.

Sure enough, when the attendant at the entrance pushed the door open, he saw two long rows of handsome men and beautiful women. It was quite a sight.

Zeke took off his coat, and before he could spot where Brandon was, a girl came in from behind and tapped him as she passed.

"Zeke? I thought that was you from behind, but I wasn’t sure. Did you just get here? Why didn’t you come last night?"

The speaker was another rich kid from their circle, one of Zeke’s old high school classmates.

They weren’t close, but they often ran into each other at all sorts of gatherings and were on nodding terms.

Zeke knew she had a boyfriend and was just being polite, so he answered her.

"Yeah, I just got here. I had something to do last night. Have you guys been going since yesterday evening?"

The music and chatter were a little too loud; they would have had to shout if they didn’t lean in close. So, Zeke subconsciously leaned his head closer to hers.

The girl said, "Yep. Isn’t this how it is every year? You were always here in past years, but you’ve been pretty tame this year."

Zeke joked, "Can’t be helped. I’m getting old, got to look after my health. You all know I’m my parents’ one and only."

"Haha," the girl laughed, amused.

"Come on, Mr. One and Only. Let’s go sit down. Everyone was talking about you last night, so you’re definitely not getting away without being forced to drink today."

The girl returned to her group of friends, and Zeke went over to where the guys were.

Just as he sat down, Simone Vaughn, who was in the very center of the sofa, slammed her wine glass down in displeasure.

With a SLAM, the freshly filled red wine sloshed out, splashing all over the girl’s skirt.

The girl gasped, instinctively looking down at her skirt, then back at Simone.
