My Child and I Married a Billionaire novel Chapter 280

Chapter 280: Chapter 280: You Like Being Inferior That Much?

Zeke Walton felt his irritation instantly melt away.

It was as if Amina had a kind of magic about her: always positive, always full of good energy. The world was a chaotic, unpredictable place, and people were complicated and strange, but none of it seemed to touch her. She lived in her own little world, simple and pure, content in her own happiness.

Her smile was just too adorable. Zeke Walton had only just noticed she actually had two small dimples.

Her big eyes curved when she smiled, and with her little round face, she really looked like a small apple you just wanted to take a bite out of.

It was the first time in his life that Zeke Walton had ever felt the urge to bite a girl!

He knew it wasn’t very gentlemanly, so he restrained himself and just reached out to pinch Amina’s cheek.

"All you think about is making money, but you won’t even splurge on a decent meal. You’re so stingy. I’m not eating. I’ll ride the scooter; you hurry up and eat."

It wasn’t the first time he’d ridden her scooter anyway, so Amina didn’t object.

Zeke Walton drove while she sat on the back, taking a bite of a bun and a sip of soy milk. She watched the bustling, glamorous city streets, sighing at the sight of the fashionable women passing by.

"The things I deliver most are coffee, milk tea, and fast food. A tiny cup of coffee costs dozens of yuan. Is it really that good?"

"Zeke, have you ever had coffee? What about milk tea? I heard there are dozens of different flavors, but you’ll get fat if you drink too much..."

She was treating Zeke Walton like her best girlfriend, saying whatever came to mind. After listening to her chatter for a while, Zeke pulled the scooter over in front of a popular milk tea shop.

"Nope. How about we both try it for the first time today?"

He thought Amina would be jumping for joy, but he had once again underestimated her stinginess.

Amina reacted as if she’d been struck by lightning.

She lowered her voice and pinched the fabric at his waist.

"Are you crazy? This brand of milk tea is over 30 yuan a cup! That’s more than 60 yuan for the two of us! What kind of milk do they use that makes it so expensive? No way, no way! Over 60 yuan is enough for a month of my breakfasts. Let’s go, let’s go."

Zeke Walton was truly at a loss with her.

"You’re always thinking about making money but you’re never willing to spend it. What’s the point of making it then?"

"To pay for my grandma’s medical treatment. And to bring her to the big city. She’s never left our town before. She’d be so happy if she could come here."

Fine. Zeke Walton shut his mouth. He took it back.

The two of them got another order and set off for the next destination.

Delivery drivers still weren’t allowed to ride their scooters inside, so Amina ran off to make the delivery. As Zeke Walton sat on the scooter, his eyes shifted and he spotted a phone store across the street.

When Amina came back from the delivery, she saw him coming out of the phone store and looked puzzled.

"What were you doing over there? Did your phone break again?"

Zeke Walton opened the new phone’s box and held it out to her.

"It’s for you. You won’t take money from me, so just consider it a New Year’s gift. Take it."

As expected, Amina showed no sign of surprise, just a pained expression.

"For me? My phone works fine, why would you buy me a new one? How much was it? Is this one of those brand-name phones? Those are expensive, right? I heard my aunt say she spent over 10,000 on one for her son..."

As she spoke, she rummaged in the box and found the receipt.

The moment she saw the total, she nearly jumped out of her skin.

"It really was over 10,000! You must be insane! One phone costs more than I make in a month? I don’t want it! Even if you have money, you can’t just throw it away like this! Take it back right now!"

It was the first time in Zeke Walton’s life he’d ever met a girl like her.

If you said she didn’t love money, well, she was constantly talking about earning it.
