My Child and I Married a Billionaire novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75: Chapter 75: Don’t Compare Her to a Bunch of Random Women

Brandon Jacobs: "...Don’t tell me you know the woman from last night."

"She’s getting married to someone else, but she’s also with you... Who is it? Holy shit! Did you sleep with one of our friends’ wives? You two are... Regardless, Vaughn, any woman who would do that to her husband is definitely bad news. You can’t get involved with her!"

Damien Vaughn felt it was a mistake to have asked him.

’Can Cecelia Archer even be compared to the women he knows?’

Although her behavior didn’t seem much different, he just couldn’t stand Brandon Jacobs lumping her in with those other women.

"Hand me the clothes."

Brandon Jacobs had already prepared a clean set of clothes for him and handed them over respectfully.

Damien Vaughn changed his clothes right in front of him, giving Brandon Jacobs a full view of his incredible physique.

As he watched, he couldn’t help but comment.

"Look at you. You’ve got the looks, you’ve got the body, you’ve got the family background. Why can’t you just find a decent wife? If your circle is too small, your bro here can introduce you to someone! There are plenty of respectable socialites in Veridia. I’ll introduce you to someone worthy of you. Stop wasting yourself like this!"

Damien Vaughn paused, a sudden thought occurring to him.

"Really?"

There was no way he was faking it.

Brandon Jacobs’s cousin, Annabelle Young, had coveted Damien Vaughn for ages, always pestering Brandon to set them up. But given Damien’s temper, Brandon had never dared to suggest it.

He hadn’t expected the opportunity to arrive so perfectly.

"You just have to say the word. It’ll take me just a few minutes."

"Then arrange it."

Damien Vaughn finished dressing and picked up his phone.

"Let me know when it’s set."

Annabelle Young must have been born under a lucky star. He hadn’t expected Damien Vaughn to take him up on the offer so readily.

Brandon Jacobs hurriedly began to make the arrangements.

Damien Vaughn went to Brandon Jacobs’s office to wash up, then left Club DL and drove to the hospital.

’Good. That eyesore Shane Grant isn’t here today,’ he thought. It was just Candy and Cecelia Archer.

Cecelia Archer was busy looking at job postings on her computer. When she heard Candy call out "Uncle," she instinctively turned to look.

Her expression instantly turned awkward when she saw Damien Vaughn.

’Why is he here again? What does he want? It couldn’t be about last night, could it?’

Damien Vaughn entered, glanced at Cecelia Archer, and scooped Candy up in his arms.

"Uncle’s here to see you. How are you feeling today?"

Candy: "Much better. I’m just a little bored. Uncle Grant took Annie to school, so it’s just Mommy with me."

"But you have Uncle here now, don’t you? Look what I brought for you."

Damien Vaughn had bought her a small, educational game device—the kind without an electronic screen.

It was perfect for helping Candy pass the time without straining her eyes. Candy was overjoyed. She gave him a smacking kiss on the cheek and ran to show off to Cecelia Archer.

"Mommy, look! I got a present! Uncle bought me a game! I love it so much!"

"Candy, did you ask Uncle for a present again? You’re not allowed to do that anymore."

After chiding her daughter, Cecelia Archer stood up awkwardly.

"You’re here?"

She rarely wore makeup; Damien Vaughn could count on one hand the number of times he’d seen her with it on. But today, she seemed to have applied quite a bit of foundation. The collar of her white T-shirt was smudged with a faint pinkish ring.

Damien Vaughn remembered his frenzied state from the night before. Looking at Cecelia Archer’s neck in the bright light, he could faintly make out the purple bruises, even through the thick foundation.

That unruly desire inside him instantly flared up again.

’He didn’t know what was wrong with him, why just seeing Cecelia Archer made him...’

"Candy, go see if your new game is fun."

He sent Candy off to the side. Their eyes met. Cecelia, embarrassed, didn’t know where to look, but Damien Vaughn stared at her aggressively.

"Where were you last night?"

’So he did come because of last night,’ she thought.

’He was so drunk, he can’t possibly remember anything, right?’
