Quennel, of course, understood the meaning behind those words, but his face remained expressionless as if he hadn't understood at all, and he followed Hannah upstairs.
Cherry sat on the sofa with a ferocious scowl, crossing her legs and glaring at him with displeasure.
Only when Quennel and Hannah had gone upstairs and disappeared from her sight did Cherry jump up and rush over to Samuel.
"So, how did I do? I was pretty good, right? He was really mad, wasn't he?"
Cherry was quite pleased with her performance, raising her eyebrows at Samuel triumphantly.
Samuel gave her a thumbs-up.
"Excellent. I could clearly see Quennel's face darken for a second. But I have to say, the man is impressive. He recovered in an instant. No wonder Lionel is no match for him. His mental fortitude is truly powerful."
Samuel once again felt incredibly thankful that they had seen through Quennel's intentions early on. Otherwise, forget Lionel; even he and Cherry combined would likely not be a match for him.
The man was simply too terrifying, too formidable.
"Let's go, let's go. We need to get to the security room now," Cherry said, hurrying Samuel along.
Just because Quennel wasn't talking to Hannah here and had gone to the small study instead...
That didn't mean the study wasn't under surveillance!
A place like a study, where important matters were discussed and critical documents were kept, obviously required even more attention and several more cameras!
Hannah led Quennel to the small study.
As soon as they entered, Quennel eagerly asked, "After the car accident, did Marcus Hale come to see you? Did he say anything strange?"
