Chapter 264 A White Lie

When Colin finished speaking, the car and Faye fell silent at the same time.

Abbot shot a contemptuous look at Colin and mouthed, "Coward!"

Colin raised his eyes to cast a glance at him, looked away, and flatteringly said on the phone, "Honey, are you angry?"

Faye asked calmly, "What on earth happened?"

Colin said in a frank tone, "This matter has nothing to do with me. Something happened in Abbot's wharf, so he asked me to come over to help."

Faye frowned, "What happened in his wharf?"

Colin said, "He offended someone, so they used his wharf to smuggle goods to set him up."

When he was calmly lying, Abbot widened his eyes in shock and wondered when he had offended others.

Smuggling could be either a big or a small problem.

Faye heard this, her heart skipped a beat, and then she asked, "Have you caught them?"

Colin told her half-truths, "Yes, but we caught only a few scoundrels. The person behind the scenes hasn't shown up yet."

Faye said, "How long is it going to take?"

Colin grinned and replied in a low voice, "Didn't I tell you I will be away for two days? Since I promised you it will take only two days, the problem will be solved within that time. Maybe I can go back earlier, but it will never be longer than two days."

Faye asked, "Are you sure it can be solved within two days?"

Colin replied firmly, "Yes."

Faye knew that Colin was definitely with Abbot now, so she could only say, "Be safe. If there is anything wrong, don't hesitate to call me."

Colin said in a low voice, "Okay."

Then, he stopped tapping his fingers on the armrest and said slowly, "Did I disturb you when you were sleeping?"

Faye replied, "No, I slept very well."

Colin said, "I hung up the video call because I didn't want to wake you up, but you still heard it."

Faye guessed what he was thinking, so she didn't reply but changed the topic, saying, "Don't silence your phone anymore."

Colin chuckled, "Okay."

Hanging up the call, Colin turned off the silent mode, pressed the phone against his chin, and beamed with joy.

Abbot tilted his head to look at him and said with a look of disgust, "Colin, stop it!"

Colin looked up at him and asked, "Are you jealous?"

When Andy got up, Abbot asked, "You called Hank just now. What did he say?"

Andy straightened himself up and replied, "He said he would call Mr. Farrell after dawn."

Abbot sneered, walked to the sofa, sat down, picked up a glass of water from the coffee table, took a sip, and said, "He is quite calm. What did you say to him?"

Andy replied, "I retold Mr. Farrell's words and asked him if he still wanted his dogs back."

Hearing this, Abbot spurted out the water from his mouth, coughed for a while, gave him a thumbs up, and said, "Well done!"

Andy showed a rare shy expression, raised his hand to scratch his head embarrassedly, and said, "Mr. Carter, thank you for the compliment."

Abbot was speechless.

When Abbot and Andy were chatting, Lance, who was lying on the ground, slowly opened his eyes. Then, he moved his neck uncomfortably, opened and closed his mouth a few times, and then froze when he saw Andy's back, thinking he would rather provoke a mad dog than him.

Therefore, he closed his eyes and pretended to still be in a coma on the floor.

Colin was drinking coffee to refresh himself beside the floor-to-ceiling window when Hank called.

When he picked up the phone, Hank said in an exhausted voice, "Hi, Colin."

Colin smiled evilly, "Hi, Hank."
