Chapter 297 The Plan
With his hands in his pockets, Colin looked handsome and unruly.
Hearing what he said, Faye was stunned before furrowing her brows, asking, "What?"
Colin answered with a faint smile, "Do you think I have kept a low profile for so many years just to fight against Hank for the ownership of Farrell Media?"
Faye caught on to it in the next second. "Are you trying to destroy Farrell Media?" said she.
Colin curved up the corner of his mouth and uttered, "I wanna destroy their souls."
The more they cared about it, the more Colin wanted to destroy it.
Something suddenly occurred to Colin. He rubbed his fingertips in his pocket and looked at Faye before asking, "Am I too ruthless?"
Faye said straightforwardly, "It's nothing compared to what they've done to you."
Hearing that, Colin felt tight in his chest and said nothing.
When Alexander walked out of the conference room, he seemed to have been tortured badly.
Seeing Colin and Faye, Alexander completely dropped his acting.
The assistant next to him was fraught that Alexander would give the game away and reminded him to go back to the office.
Alexander pumped himself up and greeted, "Mr. Farrell, Ms. Nash."
Colin joked, "President Smith."
Being called "president", Alexander got goosebumps.
A few minutes later, they reached the president's office.
Colin sat on the sofa drinking coffee, while Alexander sat at the desk complaining to Faye.
"Faye, this job is way too tough, really.
"I really shouldn't have taken this job. Colin asked me to be the nominal president of a company. In return, he would give me 5,000 dollars per month and also send me a house as a gift. I thought it was a cushy job...
"I always thought that presidents were idle until I became one myself."
Alexander talked one mile a minute and appeared distressed. Looking at how calm Faye looked, he suddenly felt that she couldn't relate to him.
Alexander stood up and leaned toward the desk.
The next second, he took out a digital bathroom scale and strode up to Faye. Then, he put it on the ground and stood on it.
"Faye, did you see it? I used to be 141 pounds, and it's been like that all the time."
Faye looked down at the bathroom scale and said with a straight face, "You really have been working hard these days."
Alexander nodded pitifully.
Colin sat on the sofa; he didn't see how many pounds Alexander had shed from 141. However, judging from how Alexander looked, Colin didn't see any change.
His confusion was cleared up when Faye uttered, "Your weight dropped from 141 to 140. That's quite a lot. Try not to drink water in the afternoon. I'm afraid your weight will be back to what it used to be."
Colin choked on the water and fought down the urge to cough.
Alexander said, "Faye, I find that you really have no compassion."
Faye looked up at him and uttered, "Since you've taken the money from him, you have to do what he told you to do."
Alexander lost his tongue. He picked up the bathroom scale and put it back under the desk.
Colin had beaten Hank to get the project of this company before.
It was a good project, and Colin even spent a lot of money to poach several elites for this project.
The three were chitchatting in the office when Alexander's mobile phone on the desk suddenly rang.
Alexander glanced at the screen, only to see "Jake", and his face instantly clouded over.
After more than ten seconds, Alexander took the phone and answered it. "Hello," said he in an unfriendly tone.
Colin gently raised his eyebrow and looked at him. "Jake?" asked he.
Alexander nodded and uttered, "Colin, I really suspect he's sick. I've told him that I'm not sick, yet he always knocks on my door at my home every two days to see me for checkups."
Colin remained silent and set his eyes on Faye.
Faye was unfazed and changed the topic. "Would Hugh like to work here? Even if so, he would investigate Alexander meticulously before he came. He's so scheming after all."
Colin perceived that Faye did not want to talk about Jake, so he played along and said, "Hugh will definitely come."
Faye asked, "What about Alexander's real identity?"
Colin answered, "There is no need to hide it."
Moreover, it was impossible to hide his identity.
Hugh had been in the business field for so many years and had his own network of contacts, so it was easy for him to find out an individual's background.
Even if Hugh didn't do the investigation at all, Alexander would reveal himself once Hugh had known him for a period of time.
Probably it wouldn't take long for Hugh to find it. Based on Hugh's insight, a conversation with Alexander for some time was more than enough.
Instead of making Hugh suspicious at that time, it was better to let him know the truth in advance.
As Colin said that, the office fell silent for a moment.
After a while, Faye stated, "If Hugh is not stupid, he would not reveal Alexander's identity."
Colin uttered with a smile, "That old geezer is very smart. He is not a fool at all."
When they left Alexander's office, Colin asked Faye in a low voice, "Why did you hold out on Alexander about the identity of Jake?"
Faye looked sideways at him and answered, "Alexander is still young. I'm worried that he would let the cat out of the bag. Jake's identity is too sensitive. If he is exposed, I am afraid that Tiffany will desperately do something. After all, even a worm will turn."
Faye stopped for a short while before continuing, "If nothing else happens, Tiffany will strike first against Blaine."
Colin chuckled and asked, "Who will Old Mr. Farrell help?"
