Chapter 325 Doctors Don't Treat Themselves
On New Year's Eve this year, it was humming with life in the Farrells' Mansion.
After breakfast, some senior executives in the company came to visit with gifts.
Tiffany and Blaine received them warmly, looking like a loving couple.
Those senior executives were sophisticated. They all had already heard about the incident that Tiffany was caught cheating on Blaine last night. It was known to everyone in the circle, but they pretended not to be in the know and played along.
Faye was making pies with the maids in the kitchen as she did a few years ago.
What made it different was that Helen surprisingly showed up and helped them in the kitchen. She compressed her lips and stood close to Faye.
"Faye."
Faye put the piecrust in her hand aside. Looking at Helen who was whisking the flour clumsily, Faye said softly, "Just go out to chill."
Helen uttered, "Faye, I want to talk to you."
Faye said, "Go ahead."
Helen meticulously lowered her voice and said, "This is not the place to talk."
Faye looked sideways at Helen. Seeing the fear and eagerness in her eyes, Faye arched her brows and uttered, "Hmm?"
Helen pressed her lips together and added, "Can I have a word with you in my bedroom after we finish making the pies later?"
Faye answered calmly, "Sure."
There were many maids in the mansion, so it didn't even take them twenty minutes to get the job done.
After making pies, Faye went to wash his hands, and Helen was at her heels.
Helen grew up as a spoiled kid in the family. Although she got involved in some of Tiffany's doings, she was innocent and frank.
Helen was like an open book, so Faye saw her through effortlessly.
A few minutes later, Faye reached Helen's bedroom.
Helen stood at the door with her hands crossed, looking very nervous. "Faye," said she.
Faye lowered her head and lifted her cuff to check the time, uttering, "Only for ten minutes. I'm afraid Colin will look for me if it's too long."
Speaking of Colin, Helen's face changed; she then compressed her lips.
Faye asked, "Still wanna talk?"
Helen looked up at Faye. She bolstered her courage and opened her mouth, "Will you and Colin finally kick my mom and us out of the Farrells?"
Faye said without turning a hair, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Helen looked at her with reddened eyes and continued, "You don't have to keep it from me. I've already known everything."
Faye forced a smile, uttering, "Helen, you are the purest person in this family."
Helen was wordless.
Faye said, "If there is nothing else, I'm leaving now."
With that, Faye was about to walk away.
Helen immediately grabbed Faye's cuff and said, "That time I showed you Jared's dead body, I just wanted to scare you. I..."
Faye said lightly, "I know."
Faye picked it up as she walked into her bedroom. "Hello," said she.
Jake said, "Happy New Year."
Faye uttered, "Happy New Year."
Jake asked, "When are you going to start your treatment?"
Faye closed the door and answered, "After the 15th."
Jake hesitated for a few seconds before asking, "Are you sure you're not gonna tell Colin?"
Faye compressed her lips and said, "I'm sure."
Jake sighed and continued, "Actually, I think you are in a good condition now and don't have to receive treatment. You and Colin have married anyway. Just keep it like this. Maybe there will be miracles..."
While he was murmuring, Jake was interrupted by Faye as she uttered, "Jake."
Jake was confused. "Hmm?"
Faye asked, "Are you celebrating New Year's Eve alone today?"
Jake was silent.
Faye continued, "You're almost having a relapse. Is there anybody by your side?"
Jake choked up and suddenly dissolved into laughter. "Doctors don't treat themselves."
Faye asked with a frown, "Need my help?"
