My Fair Stunner novel (Faye and Colin) novel Chapter 340

Chapter 340 Like a Family

After finishing the words, Tiffany fixed her eyes on Emmett while waiting for Faye's answer, afraid she would miss any clues.

Faye didn't hesitate at all. She replied blandly right after Tiffany finished the words, "We're a family, mom. That's what I should do."

Tiffany then asked, "How did Emmett have your phone number?"

Faye answered, "Lance gave it to him."

Tiffany looked complicated when she heard Faye's answer. Several seconds later, she chuckled and said, "Faye, thank you and Colin for helping Helen today. I will treat you to a meal when I'm free."

Faye replied, "Mom, you're welcome."

Tiffany ended the call and stared at Emmett quietly.

Emmett sniffed and questioned her loudly, "Did I lie to you?"

Tiffany was lost for words.

When she was trying to find an out, she received Lance's call.

Glancing at the caller ID, Tiffany swiped to answer the call, "Lance."

Lance asked, "Madame Farrell, have your man contacted you?"

Tiffany replied, "Yep."

Lance heaved a sigh at the other end of the phone and continued, "Please don't blame me for asking him to turn to Colin for help. You should know it. Though you've asked me to take care of him, Hank doesn't like him. I have no choice."

Tiffany said in a bland voice, from which Lance could not tell if she was angry or not, "Okay. I see."

Tiffany felt tired after a series of own goals.

After ending Lance's call, Tiffany waved her hand at the leading man and said, "Loosen him."

The man raised his brows and asked, "Seriously?"

Tiffany confirmed, "There's nothing wrong with him."

The man asked, "Are you sure?"

Tiffany replied impatiently, "I'm sure."

Getting her confirmation, the man walked to Emmett, stood behind him, and untied him. He curled up his lips into a scornful smile and said in a voice that could only be heard by them two, "No wonder you looked so composed just now. Turns out you've prepared for it."

Emmett didn't respond to his words, acting as if he didn't hear them.

After the man untied the rope, Emmett stood up, strode to Tiffany, gritted his teeth, and stood before her silently, his eyes red.

Faye remained silent after hearing Lance's words. After a long while, she asked, "Why didn't you inform me in advance.?"

Lance raised his hand to scratch his hair and replied, "At the beginning, we weren't sure if this would work. If it doesn't work or if Tiffany won't investigate Emmett, it will only worry you if we tell you in advance. It's the New Year after all."

Faye said, "You must report to me in advance no matter what you plan to do later. Don't make decisions yourself."

Lance replied, "Roger. No problem."

It sounded like an ordinary conversation, but only Faye and Lance themselves knew the emotions it contained.

They had gone through that hard time together. Though they had no blood relation, they treated each other like a family.

As for Emmett, he had been silent after getting into Tiffany's car, his jaw tightening.

Tiffany was driving the car. Feeling sorry for Emmett, she broke the silence, "Emmett, let's talk."

Emmett replied, "I don't want to talk about anything now."

Tiffany tightened her grip on the steering wheel and said with a chuckle, "You're always so stubborn."

Emmett turned his head to look out of the window. When seeing the reflection of his swollen face on the glass, he felt so annoyed.

Tiffany had no idea about what Emmett was thinking. She thought he was throwing a tantrum like a kid. She cleared her throat and said, "A community project was completed several days ago. It's a good location. I'll take you there to select a house later..."
