Chapter 376 The Incoming Call From a Stranger
Natalia was screwed. Breanna Media just wanted to protect its reputation. They issued a statement to cut ties with her instantly.
It was as if she wasn't one of the important artists of the company before.
Two days later, the court session began. Natalia was sentenced to serve three years in prison.
As soon as the court's trial was released, Facebook headlines immediately went viral.
"Three years? Seriously? She has killed someone and she only has to serve her time for three years?"
"It's funny. No wonder so many people simply slander others without any proof. It turns out the cost they have to pay is that little."
"Suddenly...Speechless..."
When Faye learned the result of Natalia's trial, she was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window looking at the scenery. She was holding a cup of rose tea in her hand. It was hard to tell how was she feeling.
Colin was standing next to her. He asked in a low voice, "What are you thinking?"
Faye answered honestly, "I'm thinking about Fanny."
Colin was confused, "Huh?"
Faye explained, "I'm thinking about the moment when I first saw her. She sat in the most inconspicuous place in the crowd and tried to minimize her presence as much as possible. In retrospect, she probably doesn't like the entertainment industry."
Colin stretched out his arm and put his arm around Faye's shoulders. He calmly changed the topic and said, "Ethan will be here shortly to tell you the good news."
Faye responded, "Um."
Ethan was running late and only arrived at night.
It was snowing outside. Ethan was wearing a black woolen coat and he looked cool.
As soon as Ethan entered the room, he took off his coat and handed it to Cindy followed by a "Thank you". Then, he headed to the living room.
Colin looked at him and teased, "Don't you go to pick up Ms. Rowan tonight?"
Ethan looked at Colin and said, "Are you looking for trouble?"
Colin smiled instantly and said, "I am just asking. Don't take it personally."
Ethan took his seat and glanced at Faye who was leaning on the couch. Knowing that Faye was in a bad mood, he glanced at Colin and said solemnly, "Faye, do you know about Natalia's trial?"
Faye answered, "Three years in prison."
Ethan said, "That's the law."
Faye smiled and said, "I understand. I'm already very grateful for you sparing the time of your busy schedule to help me with this lawsuit."
Ethan liked Faye's character.
She was polite and yet she knew how to keep a distance. She would never take someone's help for granted regardless of how close she was to that person.
After Faye finished speaking, Colin glanced coldly at Ethan.
Ethan raised his eyebrows, smiled, and said, "It's hard to tell what can happen in those three years. We aren't even sure whether she can get out of prison safe and sound after three years. It has to depend on her luck."
One didn't have to pinpoint everything while talking to a smart person.
Faye was stunned for a moment but got his implication in the next second, "Thank you."
Ethan smiled and said, "I didn't do much. I just asked someone to publicize what she did outside in the prison."
There were a lot of cynical people in the prison.
Even though Natalia got to stay alive after those three years, she would have definitely been tortured badly.
After Ethan finished speaking, he looked at Colin.
Colin stretched his legs slightly and asked, "Have you eaten yet?"
Ethan wasn't shy and said, "What do you think? I rushed here from the law firm directly."
Colin turned his head to look at Faye who was sitting beside him. He smiled and said, "Honey, shall we go get some air?"
Faye looked at Colin. She thought for a while and replied, "Sure."
Forty minutes later, Ethan and the other two showed up at Karaoke Night Fever.
The three of them sat on the couch in the hall while more than a dozen of Ethan's men were checking the rooms out one by one.
The KTV manager stood on the side in fright and wiped the sweat from his forehead from time to time. He asked with a smile, "Mr. Farrell, Mr. Bond, what brings the two of you here today?"
Ethan was silent with a cold expression. He reached out and took the cards on the coffee table to play with them.
Colin looked at the manager and said with a faint smile, "Looking for someone."
The manager was even more frightened when he heard that and said, "Mr. Farrell, please enlighten me about who are you looking for. I will ask my people to help you with that as well."
Colin raised his jaw slightly and signaled the manager to ask Ethan.
Looking at Ethan, who was extremely cool and unapproachable, the manager swallowed hard. He bite the bullet and asked, "Mr. Bond, who is the person bothering you so much?"
Ethan took out one of the cards in his hand emotionlessly, threw it on the table, and said, "The 6 of hearts."
Colin teased, "This card is... coquettish."
Colin's words made Ethan laugh and said, "Who else can be more coquettish than you in Cocanel?"
Colin said, "Well, I am being coquettish on the outside and unlike someone who is being coquetted on the inside."
Ethan and Colin were teasing each other and none of them seemed to answer the manager's question.
The manager looked embarrassed. Suddenly, there was screaming coming from the KTV room on the first floor.
The manager was trembling and said, "Mr... Mr. Bond."
Ethan got up, looked at him, and said, "Your place will not be operating tonight. I will pay for all the losses."
