Chapter 76: Chapter 76 Stolen Mate Revealed

Elena’s POV

"Yeah. They all believe it." Julian confirmed.

"When do I get to meet them?" The question left my lips before I could stop it.

"Why would you want to do that?" His tone shifted, becoming more guarded.

"I think I deserve that much. And I deserve to know exactly why you think I’m some damn prophet." The words came out sharper than I intended.

Julian’s entire demeanor changed. He started shifting uncomfortably, his fingers drumming against the stone surface beneath him. The idea of me meeting his family clearly made him nervous, but I wasn’t about to let this go.

If they truly believed I possessed some special ability, then I had every right to face them and demand answers. I wasn’t going to be kept in the dark about something that apparently concerned my own destiny.

"I’ll need to discuss it with them first." His response was carefully measured.

"Well, you better make it quick. I don’t have time to waste on this ridiculous theory of yours." My patience was wearing thin.

"You really don’t think there’s a werewolf war coming?" He pressed.

"Of course there’s going to be conflict. There always is. Alphas are constantly at each other’s throats, making threats, plotting to destroy rival packs. It’s just another day in our world." I shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant.

"That sounds like a terrible way to exist." He observed.

"Oh really? And you’re telling me that in two hundred and eighty years, your kind hasn’t faced any challenges? No other species trying to eliminate you? Not even the werewolves that made this treaty necessary in the first place?" I challenged him.

"We’ve had our share of conflicts. But nothing like what we’re witnessing now. Werewolf packs across the entire country are preparing for battle."

"What kind of battle?" My curiosity was piqued despite my skepticism.

"That’s exactly the issue. We have no idea what they’re preparing to fight over." His frustration was evident.

I pushed myself up from the rock and climbed down, my feet hitting the forest floor with a soft thud. My eyes swept through the trees surrounding us. Time was running short, and I needed to return soon. There was already a chance that patrol units had detected my scent trail leading away from pack territory.

This meeting was supposed to be brief, but it had stretched on far longer than anticipated. All because he had dropped this prophet bombshell on me. It was the most absurd thing I had ever heard.

I found myself at a loss for words. I didn’t know how to respond to Julian, and I wasn’t sure what I would even say to his family if this meeting actually happened.

But this prophecy concept had to originate somewhere, and I needed to understand what information they possessed.

"What are you doing out here with this bloodsucker?" Damien’s voice was low and dangerous, his teeth clenched. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
