My father sold me to the Mafia King novel Chapter 100

Chapter 100: 101/A Lesson in Flirting

Chapter 101:

Julie’s Point of Vie

My eyes fell on his open shirt, which revealed his chest and tight bronze muscles, increasing my confusion a confusion I tried to bury behind a mask of anger.

He asked me in a tone full of wonder: "What?"

I fixed my gaze on his eyes and clenched my hands tightly, saying:

"I want you to come with me to my room."

He didn’t argue; he placed his weapon behind his back with a graceful movement and stepped out of the room.

Before the door closed, I caught a glimpse of that red-haired girl lying semi-naked on the bed, eyeing us with strange and disapproving looks.

As soon as the door closed behind him, he asked coldly:

"Is there a problem?"

I didn’t answer him; instead, I turned and walked ahead of him with long strides, feeling his dominant presence behind me following me through the silent corridor.

When we arrived, I pushed my room door wide open, and the scene exploded before us; bouquets of roses filled every corner intertwining colors of deep red, mysterious black, and royal purple... there were tulips, jasmine, and rare orchids.

Even though I had seen the sight just moments ago, my breath stumbled from amazement once again.

Carlos entered the room with confident steps and stood in the middle of this artificial garden, then turned to me calmly:

"Why did you call me here?"

I gestured with a nervous, sweeping motion toward all those flowers:

"I think you should explain to me what this is!"

He raised an eyebrow dismissively:

"Explain what?"

"This!"

I shouted, pointing at the roses, then I snatched the paper off the table violently.

I felt the paper rustling between my trembling fingers, and I began to read the words written on it in an audible voice that shook from the intensity of emotion:

"The mind gets lost when it sees you, and worries become simple when you smile... I hope you like the roses, even though they cannot match your beauty... Carlos Mendoza."

His smile widened slowly, turning into explicit cunning, and he leaned his body toward the nearest orchid bouquet, stroking its petals coldly while saying:

"Mmm... is this why you made me follow you to the room? Do you want to thank me?"

I felt the blood boiling in my veins, so I said sharply, my body stiffening:

"And why would I thank you? You brought me an entire flower shop! In what capacity and on what occasion did you do this?"

He adjusted his stance, his chest muscles bulging under the open shirt while he placed his hand in his pants pocket:

"You’ve become a personal assistant now... and I’m doing this in my capacity as your friend."

I raised my eyebrows in disapproval and repeated after him sarcastically:

"You are really being my friend?"

Then I waved the paper in his face:

"And what is the point of these words? This is blatant flirting! Are you trying to flirt with me, Mr. Carlos?"

He let out a short exhale that resembled a laugh and said in a calm, provocative tone:

"It’s not flirting, Julie... it’s just kind words exchanged between friends."

I took one step toward him, my eyes burning with defiance:
