Chapter 121:
Carlos’s Point of View
My gaze was frozen between a pale Olivia and Julie, who was swaying while pointing her finger in a piercing accusation.
Olivia said in a shaky voice: "Julie... what are you saying?"
Julie did not back down; instead, she took an unsteady step forward and shouted in a sharp tone: "You tried to kill me, Olivia... admit it!"
Olivia curled her lip in a confused mockery and retreated, scanning Julie’s wretched state: "I think you are drunk, or you have completely lost your mind."
I intervened immediately to end this tension, saying firmly while watching the dilation of Julie’s pupils: "Fine, Olivia... you can leave now. Julie is not in her senses."
I slowly grabbed Julie’s delicate arm and felt the unnatural heat of her skin: "Julie... come sit down."
Instead of sitting, she leaned her body toward me until her chest hit mine, and boldly extended her hand to feel my chest muscles through the shirt, whispering with childish wonder: "You have massive muscles!" I felt my body stiffen under her spontaneous touches, while Olivia’s gaze pierced through us sharply before she turned her back and left the room violently.
I sat her on the edge of the bed and sat down beside her, feeling my heart drumming against the walls of my chest.
Her beauty and her dress were encouraging my demon; so I seized the absence of her mind and asked her in a low voice: "Julie... do you like me?"
She swayed her head right and left, smiling a vacant smile: "Yes... you are attractive, Carlos."
A wave of happiness washed over me, making my breath tighten, but my fatal curiosity pushed me to ask the most important question: "And Robert... do you like him?"
She began playing with the strands of her hair falling on her shoulder, pursing her lips in scattered thought: "Hmm... I don’t know."
Then suddenly, she fixed her blurry green eyes directly into mine and said in a whisper that tore through the silence: "Do you know?.. He kissed me."
I felt as if a thunderbolt had struck me; my hands cramped over my knees and I said with bitter wonder: "How?.. How did he do this?"
Julie laughed a delicate laugh and brought her face close to mine until her breath mingled with mine, saying with a drugged cunning: "I’ll show you..."
Before I could comprehend her intention, her hands rose to rest behind my neck, and she pulled my head toward her to press her lips against mine.
At that moment, all my composure collapsed; I couldn’t resist. My fingers delved into her silky hair, and I pulled her waist toward me forcefully, reciprocating the kiss with a hunger I was no longer able to suppress.

Robert’s Point of View
I was leaving my office when Olivia blocked my way. I asked her dryly while adjusting my shirt sleeves: "Is the party going well?"
She answered with noticeable tension while rubbing her palms: "Yes, Mr. Robert." Then she added in a suspicious tone: "Julie is in her room now... with Mr. Carlos."
I froze in place, feeling a sudden contraction in my stomach. Carlos? Here without my knowledge? I told her briefly: "Fine, go."
I descended the stairs with wide strides, the sound of my heartbeats reaching her room before me. I pushed the door with a force that sent it hitting the wall, but the sight that greeted me made my breath stop.
They were there... immersed in a blind kiss, as if the world had stopped at the borders of their lips. I roared in a voice that shook the corners of the room: "What is happening here?!"
Carlos jumped and retreated, while I moved toward him like a hurricane. I grabbed his shirt collar with both hands and caught him with a resounding punch that knocked his head aside. He groaned in pain: "What are you doing, Robert?!"
"How dare you kiss her?!" I bellowed, the blood boiling in my veins to the point that I could only see the color red.
Carlos replied while wiping the blood from his mouth defiantly: "Why do you care? Whether I kiss her or not... what business is it of yours?"
"She is my personal assistant! You cannot get close to her!" I shouted, tightening my grip on his shirt until it almost tore.
Carlos laughed with a scathing mockery: "And is that what gives you the right to kiss her yourself... while I am forbidden?"
My volcano erupted; I directed a second punch at him, but he caught me with a quick response, landing his fist on my jaw. We retreated, then I pounced on him again, squeezing his collar: "I will kill you, Carlos... I will kill you!"
At the height of our clash, I felt two soft arms wrap around my waist from behind, and a warm body pressing against my back.
My muscles stiffened immediately, and I let go of Carlos, breathing with difficulty. I turned back to find Julie hugging me tightly. I said in a panting tone: "What are you doing?"
"I am trying to stop you from fighting," she whispered in a mellow, vacant voice.
Carlos said while adjusting his clothes in frustration: "Listen, Robert, you cannot prevent me from getting close to her."
I ignored her completely and moved away from her, saying sternly: "Go to sleep."
She shook her head in a childish rejection: "I don’t want to sleep... I feel thirsty."
I turned toward the table where a pitcher of water was placed, and moved to bring a glass for her.
But in a single second, she leaped from the bed and ran barefoot toward the door. She went out into the hallway with a speed I didn’t expect, so I followed her, exhaling in frustration.
She had ascended the stairs with a suspicious lightness, and I caught up to her in the middle of the upper hallway. Before she could go further, I leaned down and lifted her over my shoulder like a light lamb.
She struck my back with her hand while laughing hysterically, as I walked with wide strides toward my private room; leaving her in this state alone in her room was a gamble I would not accept.
I opened the door with my knee and entered, then placed her on my wide bed. I said in a hoarse voice: "You must sleep now."
She refused again, writhing on the bed, so I sat in the opposite chair watching her emotional movements.
I began to analyze her condition; she is not drunk, for a drink causes lethargy, not this massive physical energy and the ability to run.
I squeezed my fist and said in a frustrated hiss: "It’s definitely drugs!" But where she got them from that is the question.
I stood beside the bed, watching her hysterical movements as she jumped and danced frantically, her hair flying around her flushed face.
Suddenly, she stopped moving and began clutching the fabric of the dress at her chest with tense fingers, saying in a choked tone: "This dress is too tight... it’s suffocating me."
I said while trying to maintain a calm tone despite the chaos filling the room: "Do you want to change it? I’ll bring you one of my shirts."
I turned toward the closet and pulled out a white cotton shirt, saying while still giving her my back: "Go into the bathroom and change the dress."
But as soon as I turned to hand her the shirt, the blood froze in my veins and my movement stilled completely.
She had gotten rid of her blue dress in the blink of an eye; she stood before me in only her black underwear.
I felt a sudden heat burning my gut, my throat went dry as I contemplated the details of her body.
