Chapter 193: 193/Dinner and a Disaster

Chapter 193

Robert’s Point of View

I wanted to press my gun against Sebastian’s head and empty every bullet inside him. Damn it, how could Julie look at him like that? Why was she looking at him as if he had cast a spell on her? I clenched my fist so hard my knuckles turned white, feeling a relentless boil in my chest.

I entered the office irritably, and at that moment, my phone rang; it was my father. "What do you want?" I answered roughly, my voice strained. "I’m busy, make it quick."

"The Don came to visit me today," he said in his frail voice.

I knitted my brows and asked, "Why?"

"You kidnapped his assistant, ’The Snake’."

"Did he come to complain to you?" I asked sarcastically.

"Rather, he came to tell me that he’s going to steal someone you love," he replied in a serious tone that sparked my suspicion.

My body stiffened for a moment. "Who is he going to steal?" I said with artificial coldness. "I don’t love anyone."

"Your little girl, Julie..." my father replied directly. "Don’t you love her?"

I felt my heart suddenly contract, and I shouted at him, trying to hide my panic, "What does Julie have to do with this?"

"I don’t know," he said calmly. "But be careful, Robert."

"Goodbye," I said curtly.

I hung up and threw the phone onto the desk violently. A real anxiety began to gnaw at my gut; he cannot kidnap Julie from me! No one knows she means anything to me; I was so careful to keep my feelings behind a mask of coldness.

Fuck it! If the Don even thinks of approaching her, I’ll kill him with these two hands before he touches a single hair on her head. I began pacing the office back and forth, my breath quickening with every dark thought about her safety.

Julie’s Point of View

I didn’t go to my room as Robert ordered; instead, I went straight to Max’s room. I entered without knocking, as usual. He looked at me with a frustrated sigh. "Really, Julie? Are you going to keep barging in like this?"

"Sorry," I said briefly.

"What do you want?" he asked, wiping his face with his hand. "And why didn’t you come to training this morning?"

"I was busy with Robert’s damn files," I replied with annoyance.

"Hmm... okay."

I took a deep breath and said suddenly, "Listen, Max... have you ever had sex with a virgin girl before?"

His features stiffened, and he looked at me in disbelief. "Again, Julie? Are you going to bring up these topics again?"

"It’s an urgent matter, Max!" I insisted, my voice trembling slightly.

"No, I haven’t," he said decisively.

"Really? Not even once?" I asked in disbelief.

"No," he replied coldly. "None of the girls were virgins."

I sighed in disappointment. "You can’t help me then."

He narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "What are you doing, Julie? I’m curious to know."

"Nothing... goodbye," I said, evading him.

I left his room without any answers; I just wanted to confirm if what "Google" said was true or exaggerated. I went to my room quickly, pulled the phone from its secret spot, and went into the bathroom, locking it.

I found more missed calls from Professor Weston; I called him, but he cut the line and video-called me back.

I hesitated for a moment then answered. The Professor’s face appeared on the screen, and he said with a smile, "Hello, Julie."

"Hello, Professor," I said, feeling shyness creep into my features because I was talking to him on video.

He knitted his brows and said in a reproaching tone, "What did I tell you, Julie? Call me Edward."
